Hi. This isn’t a direct answer, but when you see a “Chevy” or “Ford,” it means the engine, drive train and suspension are sourced from a donor Chevette, Pinto or Mustang II.
Each kit manufacturer designed frames for their own cars. Some were customizable for Chevy or Ford hard mounting points. The kit buyer would specify their preference when…[Read more]

It’s off topic, but for our Florida friends thinking of towing to Carlisle, stay tuned to the forum!
Our friends in the Speedster Owners Group organize caravans from various points in the country. There is always a “a southeast” caravan.
Ed or I, or maybe Bill, will share details in the Clubs and Shows section as those trips get organized!

I had so many issues with my original wiring I just had to gut it and start over!
Some problems I’ve had with the headlights.
1. Switch burnt out. Â My original wiring did not use relays. So the headlights, which pull a significant amount of power was routed through the through the switch, causing it to fail in time.
2. Â The glass fuse hol…[Read more]

For the same money
as an MGB, I prefer the Jensen Healey. (Only the intelligentsia will know what it is.) Plebeians will think it is some sort of early Corvette.
’72-76. Early ones are prettier, so buy a 76 and put a 72-73 bumper on it.  Very capable Lotus DOHC high revving 16 valve 4 cyl engine. Watch for rust.
Comfy cruiser and very…[Read more]

I have found a vehicle just completed. It looks great, pinto engine, etc. I want it BAD. The problem is the owner who was just finishing it died and there is NO paperwork.  No donor car information, no fiber fab documents, other than the manuals etc.
IF it possible at all to get a title to a vehicle like this. It has no value but parts if no…[Read more]

It would. And it would fit my budget if I sold the Spyder.

I am an old guy, who, in the 50’s fell in love with the T series MG’s. Have owned Model T’s all my life but now am selling the old Ford and when it sells, if it sells, will look for TD replica, preferably close to home near Houston. Of course would love a BCW car but will take what I can find. So glad to be a member.

Please come up to Carlisle! I do plan to debut this build there and, as it happens, I’m also (sort of) in charge of this year’s “Speedsters Meet Spyders And TDrs” festivities. It’s shaping up to be quite a scene, and I am very much pulling to get a Full Compliment of my TD Replica brethren on the field.
Here’s hoping it doesn’t rain all day every…[Read more]

I also would like to see the car at Carlisle. There are two of us here in Florida who are considering pulling our cars to Carlisle. Please let us know when you get information. Thanks.

Car was still running rough, so I took carb to an expert on Holley carbs and he rebuilt it and changed jets. Also set timing by hand rotating engine to proper location.  Car is running much better now, has quite a bit of power. Still a little hesitation at higher RPMs, maybe needs larger jets? Anyway, it is time to really start using the car.

Why Ed,
Lookin’ good!! Â I would definitely put in the floor and the seat and sit in the car for at least an hour while you make “VROOM VROOM” sounds and pretend to be driving the car around one of the world’s most challenging race tracks!!
Great work!! Â Can’t wait to see the finished product at Carlisle next year!
Cheers
Happy Jack
