We could totally do this and kick those Speedster guys’ butts, just on account of the better reach we have over the door sill. And if we had a right drive car or two they’d really be in trouble.
I’ll be looking at grabbing a used croquette kit on craigslist & lengthening the handles a bit. . . .
Who’s with me?!
February 12, 2012 at 8:27 am #249105Ed, I’ll play if I can use your TD. But, if we’re gonna dance with the girl that brung ya, MiGi has a headache.
February 12, 2012 at 10:47 am #249106Auto Polo. Very Dangerous. You go first.
February 12, 2012 at 12:28 pm #249107I’m thinking a 3 on 3 match, so passing the ball will be possible.
This NYT piece from 1912 (PDF should download) indicated serious mishaps were the rule even 1 on 1.
That said, I think most of us will not be so recklessly competitive. What I’m really after is the action photo for the following year’s Carlisle brochure–not to mention the 2013 TD Replica.com calendar.
I suppose we can decide when we get there. We need a good sized open field, which will definitely be available on Sunday a.m.; maybe not on Saturday.

I’m reminded of Tonto’s great line: “Uhh…who do you mean we, pale-face?”
I’ll cheer else I’ll bring a cheerleader.

February 12, 2012 at 3:18 pm #249110You’re a funny guy Ed. (There is a good reason that I opted to go with trick photography.)
February 12, 2012 at 3:50 pm #249111Ed,
How about a TD challenge on the Auto track – best time once around?
February 12, 2012 at 4:02 pm #249112Schu, is their “Auto track” a simple oval speed type, or is it an obstacle type course with pylons etc that stress handling (ala autocross)? Either way, sounds less risky than auto polo.
February 12, 2012 at 4:39 pm #249113Yes, Carlisle’s “track” is a very short autocross track set up on an “out and back” paved track on the edge of Carlisle’s property. Basically two parallel paved sections, on which they st up cones to make a couple chicanes, a short slalom.
Definitely handling over power.
VW guys, get into second and just leave it there.

February 12, 2012 at 4:46 pm #249114I kinda would like to try the track this year, if she’s running right. I’d be very surprised if I could do it faster than any car there.
February 12, 2012 at 5:24 pm #249115Ahhhh…polo…no…….auto track sounds like fun.
February 12, 2012 at 5:25 pm #249116The “track” is more my speed but I’ll be towing about 1000 miles, so, no promises.
February 17, 2012 at 7:18 pm #249117The Auto Track(Autocross) is a definite go.
Blue Mountain Region SCCA is holding 2 autocross events
in Morgantown, PA at the recently closed down furniture mall.
March 11 and April 1.
