Well, I’m another step closer to the purchase of a MG TD and it is to you fine folks that I am overcoming my fears!
Last night I downloaded and read the entire Classic Roadsters assembly manual and finished every post on this forum. I’m confident that I want to pursue the purchase of the Duchess. First of all the fear of acquiring a Kit that HAD a limited run of production and where the availability of parts and support is a HUGE fear. But with the resources found on this site and all of the great support from fellow enthusiast is greatly influencing my decision.
I just wanted to thank the owners and operators of this site and forum first of all. BUT more importantly I want to thank the contributes! You folks are the only support to fellow owners. And if it wasn’t for your prompt suggestions, recommendations, war stories and opinions I would not be interested in the Duchess at all. I have a sailboat and can post on the only forum I have been able to find and it can go weeks before a am able to garner a answer or even a comment. It is wonderful that this forum is so actively used by such willing, informed enthusiast!
You see, I am looking to get this Duchess not for myself, but for my wife and four year old to have fun with. My wife and daughter love convertibles and always my wife has been ooohing and aaahing over the 70s mgs, triumphs and porches. But recently she saw a Friends gazelle and now I know it the older classic look she really likes. This is one of my wife’s hobbies that I WILL have to play a very active roll in. Yeah, I really have been able to stay clear of the jewelry making so far.
So here I am.
Thanks!
