Hi all, Just a quick not I’ve been busy at race shop this summer. We’ve branched out into a new direction playing with legends cars. Kind o cool. Ally is running well and visits most tracks, But ive included a few pics.
Headed to new Hampshire speedway for weekend to see if we can run with the big boys.
August 5, 2011 at 4:12 pm #245624Very cool!
And I’m impressed with all the sponsor dollars you’ve collected!
Are you driving?
I’d love to spend a weekend at a track with you. But we’re heading into high school marching band season and my daughter the drum major wouldn’t appreciate my absence.

August 6, 2011 at 8:25 am #245625what now? What race shop?
August 7, 2011 at 9:23 am #245626Many years ago a friend of mine and I started racing btogether. We raced anything , Motorcycles, Snow machines, Pick-ups, Go-carts. anything. We realized at some point that the way to prosper in this endeavor was th build and reepair, Not race. We started a little shop and built a couple frames, all while we did our normal jobs. We hired a mnger and I moved on to open a couple other endeavers. Phil still races and about 6 months ago we where at new hampshire speedway I watched one wreck and mentioned to Pete the manager that these are the rigs that will keep us older guys racing and we should build a few. They laughed at me, I bought the wrecked one less motor and brought it to the shop. This is a prototype pewr se the underside is buitlt in such away to allow mor downforce on the rearend. The problem with these cars is thatthere is absolutly no wieght in the rear, short of three gallons of gas and as the race goes on even less, as your tires heat up and want to stick the rear wants to slide. Its all phisics way over my head.
In our shop we now build over a 100 frames a year for Short track and modufieds and ship all over New England. Do repairs, Help people with thier problems and such.
We’ve built six of these and sold 3 I’m headed to NHIS this coming weekend again I’ve got a meeting with a couple big boys and I am going to try to expand this piece.
Now back t6o the car, Yes I do drive it from time to time, Yesterday I had a High speed of 118 about 8 miles an hour faster than the weeki before. Not bad for a 1100cc yamaha engine.
And yes Phil is the Phil that is now our Lt Gov. He still races Stock cars throughout New England, But I’ve had to take a more active roll in a few of our hobbies. I had forgotten how much fun the field stuff was. I didn’t realize that this had turned into quite a business

Where’s the TD.com grill badge?
