    @rockyx

Thanks for the info guys.  I’ve been trying to decide how I’m getting there and what my time frame is but I think I’ve got it figured out.

Allen, I’m likely leaving the morning of Thursday, 5/17 and running up the center of Florida to pick up 95.  From there I’ll pick up to 26 outside Charleston.  Then I’ll grab 77 at Columbia to 81 in Virginia the rest of the way.

Not sure what route you were planning on but Google says that’s my quickest route.  Plus it keeps me outside Atlanta traffic which is the route I usually take to get out of Florida so I’m looking for a different path.

    Let me know.

    Guys,

Is everyone that is going to Carlisle going to the Saturday night gig? Seems cost is 30.00 a head – a little high in my book, but I can go either way. Just thinking out loud here, but it might be a good night for the MG guys to have their on gig ( dinner ). I am going to all the rest of the activities ( Thursday – Sunday  and I do own a speedie as well ) but throwing it out there for discussion.
Let me know what you guys think…

I paid Bruce already but if y’all want to peel off I’m sure he’ll kick it back.

I was thinking maybe we should get a TD table going.

Also to note: there will be some TD love in the prize drawing.

We’ll stick with the original plan for Sat. night. The Speedster folks were nice enough to invite/allow we TDers to join them. However, I don’t think a TD group or table would upset them.

Rocky – We’ll more than likely head up I-75 to Knoxville and then hit I-81 into Harrisburg, PA. our alternate route will be I-20 from Athens, GA to Columbia, SC and then pick up I-77 to I-81 and then I-81 to Harrisburg.newkitman2012-04-12 14:12:22

I’m not going to Carlisle hoping just to meet new fun people and make new friends, I am goiing to meet you TDers that I have been communicating with for all these months.  I would expect there would be a TD only table.

All that being said, as the new kid on the block, I will go along with the crowd if you want to peel off as a TD group and do our own thing elsewhere or try to shoehorn in with the Speedsters I’m in.

I’m looking forward to meeting all of you. There should be enough of us

to commandeer a separate table. Should be plenty of time to organize

something once we all arrive at the fairground.

Sounds good – like I said – I could go either way – I am sure it will be pick your own seat so it will be easy to arrange our own table if that is what everyone wants to do.
For a long time Paul and I were the only TD guys w/ all the speedie guys and although sometimes it felt like we were outsiders I think we are now part of the group – It would be nice to support Bruce and everyone planning this Gig. Maybe a Saturday PM TD cruise is in order leaving from the fairground – Woobly you up?
Anyone else but me going to be there Thursday evening?

We won’t be getting up there until Firday noonish. Plan on leaving from here after work Thursday. Will probably get some sleep from 8 to midnight; then head north. Looking forward to seeing everyone up there.

Rocky, are you coming up? If so you’ll need to contact Bruce Stumpp of the speedster owners group. He’s the main coordinator of the Carlisle-related events. He has the details on the meal, as well as hotel and other info.

You can sign up (free) at speedsterowners.com and click on “events” or just PM me and I’ll give you Bruce’s email.

    Update: I PM’d you.

Update (per Paul’s post, previous page): “There is a block of rooms available at a reduced rate
at the Park Inn under the Speedster Owners Group.”

They may still have rooms available.

Here’s a link to the Carlisle hotels page.

As part of the Import & Kit Nationals in 2012,
all participants are invited to be part of the first downtown Carlisle
Block Party. The gathering will take place on Friday evening of Import

Hanover Street from North Street to the square. Parking is reserved for
Import & Kit Nationals showfield vehicles that display their dash
plaque and/or have a showfield sticker. This is not a parade, rather
it???s a collection of likeminded enthusiasts gathering to dine, shop and
socialize ???after hours??? off grounds. Looking for something to do?
Select local businesses will be open to better fit your evening
schedule. It???s anticipated that there will also be live music and

Here are the long-distance awards Cory Drake created for Carlisle 2012.

I thanked Cory for including the MG guys in the trophies. And Cory’s reply was “Paul, you guys aren’t party-crashers anymore. You’re family now.

For those that don’t know the history, we used to have a VERY active kit car club in New Jersey. When the Speedster guys were first getting together, we invited them to join the New Jersey Replicar Club dinners and other activities at Carlisle.

Well, now they are sharing their hospitality with us.

I’ll go. I think a bunch of Speedster guys are thinking it’s good.

BTW, just got my window sticker for the show field from the Carlisle peeps. Great! Also in the envelope: a bonus “camping” sticker in the name of a “James Ericson.”

If anyone knows who that is, pipe up. Maybe I can send it to him.

    Win an ipad at Carlisle.

They’re giving one away at each show this year. Apparently you have to give them your contact info here to be eligible for the drawing.

For those that are traveling up from the south from FL, through GA, SC, and NC, we should all get cell numbers in case anything happens along the way. Plus Paul, as our fearless leader, we should have a contact number for you so we can fill you in should something happen along the way. We’ll be on the way Thursday night the 17th starting out at midnight for the 14 hour trek. We’ll be traveling up I-20 from Athens, GA to Columbia, SC and then pick up I-77 to I-81 and then I-81 to Harrisburg. Should arrive somewhere around 3PM-ish That’s a Georgia word!   LOL  ). Anyone wanting my cell its:
