Ed – Kinda like a bowling ball. One push and she rolled through the entire course!

May 20, 2012 at 3:05 pm #248460Pretty fair time. Five TDs plus two owners without their cars (that i know about). We were missing a couple guys from last year who aren’t really active on this site.
Weather was pretty much perfect.
Food service left a bit to be desired.
Below: Roy Hendrix setting up on the show field, then a shot of my car’s nose and Wobby’s and a Speedster’s tailpipes:
Above: Richard Wobby smoking as Dale and Lois Schumacher back in at Legends. Below: Bill Ascherman on the autocross track. He did beat several Miatas and a Jaguar E Type.May 20, 2012 at 3:32 pm #248461thx Ed for the photos.
May 20, 2012 at 4:42 pm #248462Good stuff Ed. Keep em coming.
May 20, 2012 at 8:19 pm #248463Will have more pics up soon. Took a nice group shot of the five TDs present.
We want to double that in 2013!Paul Mossberg

(Rockyx, Allen & Paul also at the show, without wheels, but promising to bring their TD’s next year.)May 21, 2012 at 7:23 am #248465Wobby’s alternator bearing squeak. Bill & Schu advising:
Roy’s MiGi next to a nice Bugatti kit. Paul, Wobby & Schu figgering something out. MT space is Bill’s ballast pile while he is running the autocross:Bill & his fast autocross machine above.Ed. Roy & Rocky giving Ed words of encouragement before his autocross run:Roy & Julie won the “furthest driven award” with MiGi:Would someone who knows who did the artwork on our award please fill me in on the details? I didn’t hear the details. Thanks.May 21, 2012 at 7:35 am #248466Roy, those sketches were made by Cory Drake (below, with “Projekt Hoopty”). For years he’s been one of the Speedster group’s spark plugs, providing door prizes, wrenching help, mechanical advice and much entertainment. He’s a full time firefighter and (just retired?) Air Force reservist. Don’t know his rank but he did his 20+ as, yep, a journalist. I think he said he’s in charge of combat photographer deployment now.
May 21, 2012 at 9:25 am #248467I got back late yesterday, What a great time, I would like to thank all who worked so hard to make this happen great to get to meet you all and spend time with those already met.
A great PR marketing guy once told me “If you know a hammer is going to drop, Try to get ahead od the nail”
All I want to say is I forgot regular sneakers.
Now on to lighter amusements, Quotes from this weekend. On the way home 8 hours by myself I was able to relive some great moments and laugh and chuckle to myself.Roy, “I’m not fussy” This is coming from a retired navy nuclearer sub guy who has an all white MG and dresses in white. I think I watched him for 10 minutes adjusting a nut because it didn’t line up right.
Paul, “I get my MG back next week and I’m driving it next year.” Its been 4 years paul, I’m not even sure it exists
Rocky, “I think I’ll go pick up a couple parts” Your finishing a car theres no such thing as a couple of parts. You need a s@#%load.
Some Porche guy who we just finished adjusting his brakes and replaced bearings, “Are you going to back over Carlisle, I’ll follow you” are you kidding me, I just helped adjust your brakes, I’ll follow you.
Schu, Upon being asked if he would like to go for aride for ice cream, “Sure they need my carburator for a demo, let me give it to them and we’ll go.” Schu if anyone can get a car to run without carbs its you.
Bill, “I think I’ll finish restoring my ride” Don’t, It fits, You’ll just turn into another one of us.
Ed, “Anybody up for a Prims Cup, Oh to late we’ll be eating soon” I’m still waiting for my prims, Ed, I count on these every year.
Richard, “Don’t worry we can fix it, I saw it on TV sunday morning” Are you kidding me you don’t watch TV.
Once again, great time, Thanks for all the fun and new memories.
May 21, 2012 at 12:54 pm #248468Pictures are great, sounds like you guys had a blast. Hopefully I’ll get to go next year.
May 21, 2012 at 12:55 pm #248469Wobby (at ice cream place, when the volunteer firefighter left to get a half dozen calendars so he could tell us the date of their cruise-in is in August): “Would somebody just tell that guy we don’t live here?”
Wobby (five minutes later, handing that same guy $20): “Here, this is for his [my] registration. Make sure you call this guy [meaning me] so he can get up here.”
