I go with the furthest travelled. As you know I’m TDY to WY and can’t make this years festivities. Linda and I were so looking forward to being there. We had a great time and will miss it. So everyone be safe and have beer for me and a Margurita for Linda. And take lots of photos.

May 14, 2013 at 8:24 pm #252683I say everyone but Roy should be able to vote
By the way – I like the number on the door – did not think of doing that…
I think it will add 5 MPH?May 14, 2013 at 9:14 pm #252684Totally did for me. I Love it.
If you don’t have numbers the “period correct” thing to do is use masking tape to make them.
BTW, Roy: Davide Stroud, one of the Speedster drivers, last year drove from Canada to Key West and back to Carlisle in his speedster, with his wife. He is older than me but (I think) a few years younger than you.
He did this, mind ya, just a few days after completing the installation of a Subaru engine in his car.
This year he’s not making it–says he just discovered a major trans oil leak & no time to fix.
This makes me sad, because (speaking of “adding 5 mph”) just two hours ago I backed a brakeless, dead-battery-havin’ 83,000 mile 1995 Legacy wagon AWD into my garage. The car is dirty, dented and smells a little funny. The motor sounds just fine.;)

May 14, 2013 at 11:37 pm #252685I talked with David for quite a while in the parking lot. He did a really nice job on the conversion. Nice guy. It was not until then did I notice just how much bigger the Speedsters are than out TDs (and I owned a 911S).
This is not to take anything away from David’s epic marathon. I was very impressed. Impossible to put in a Daytona MiGi – I can’t even fit dual carbs. But it makes me almost glad that I don’t have to think about a 2.2 Subi.22 was my # on my high school football team. (Yeah, I know “leather helmets, steel cleats”. Har, har!)………and the answer is 5.22 mphMay 15, 2013 at 4:57 am #2526860500 We’re outta here, enroute Carlisle. See you tomorrow Bill.
May 15, 2013 at 8:36 am #252687Safe drive Roy.

May 15, 2013 at 5:07 pm #252695Anybody camping. I am way up top overlooking the field. Ground is Stoney.
But I know from past experience it’s quiter here and the people can watch the show from the motor home. Schu I,m thinking dinner around 5 and then if we want to ride out to the drive in for a ice cream or straight downtown and find desert there. These dam drinking and driving rules scare the hell out of me. Somebody bring a transport van.May 15, 2013 at 5:10 pm #252696my wife & I are coming up sat morn (just for the day) have to use one of my oldsmobiles project is moving slow because money constraints see you then
May 15, 2013 at 5:11 pm #252697Well, we’re in Pa. The DC roads on the Northbound side are a zoo. I updated my GPS yesterday and in DC it (I call her Suzie) said “I have no clue”. Incredible. So the 8 hour advertised trip took us 10+. And we are still about 80 miles from Carlisle.
BUT, nothing broke and all’s well.Beautiful day. Hope the weather holds for the weekend.May 15, 2013 at 7:41 pm #252698Calling for great weather all weekend – very low rain % and 69 -75 degrees!
May 15, 2013 at 9:53 pm #252699See you all tomorrow. Trying to decide whether to change the oil first or wait till next week. Leaning toward changing it.
May 15, 2013 at 10:57 pm #252700I’m on my way by myself. TD close behind in the trailer. My wife Barbara was looking forward to comming but decided the trip would be to hard on her back. Spending the night just west of Cleveland. Expect to be at the hotel by mid afternoon. I’m looking forward to meeting you all in person.
See you all tomorrow.

I’m going to change the oil and check the valves before getting underway. Hopefully I’ll be on the road about 2:30-3, in Carlisle before 5. Where’s everyone going to be?
