April 24, 2014 at 8:05 am #258522Just received my sticker yesterday. Also received a firm date for the moving van that will take us from Maryland to Colorado. Both to happen on May 16th. Trying to figure out how I can spend May 16th supervising the move and then going to Carlisle after house is empty. My wife asked where we can sleep on 16th. Told her I do have a hotel reservation in Pennsylvania….
April 24, 2014 at 9:43 am #258523Sounds like the perfect solution Gabe!
And it was very thoughtful of you to ensure you and your wife have a place to sleep after moving out!Not only that, but meals have been arranged for the weekend also.Where are you headed in CO?Paul Mossberg

April 24, 2014 at 11:35 am #258525It’s only 1,656 miles from Pine CO to Carlisle PA. 😉

May 2, 2014 at 8:31 pm #258528Any body know anything about the PA turnpike EZ pass??? Is that something for locals or constant users or can anyone use it?
May 2, 2014 at 8:50 pm #258529My PA EZ Pass works pretty much up and down the east coast. I’ve traveled from Maine to S. Carolina without stopping to pay tolls. I Love it. BUT…My first year at Carlisle, the system apparently didn’t catch it and I received several tickets in the mail for unpaid turnpike tolls. All of these included a photo of me going through the toll gate. In one photo I was clearly holding up my EZpass. They dropped all charges.

E???ZPass is an electronic toll-collection system used on most tolled roads, bridges, and tunnels in the northeastern United States, south to North Carolina, and west to Illinois. Currently, there are 25 agencies spread across 14 states that make up the E???ZPass Interagency Group (IAG).[1] All member agencies use the same technology, allowing travelers to use the same E???ZPass transponder throughout the IAG network.edsnova2014-05-02 20:51:46
May 12, 2014 at 7:34 am #258531Hey folks,
According to that “infallible” Weather Bug App, it is going to rain Fri and Sat at Carlisle —So how many people can fit under the Speedsters group’s tent? How many big umbrellas will we need to cover ourselves and the cars? Or is there a rain date?Actually, it looks like Saturday will not be a wash out but Friday may be……but then again, it is only Monday, so I guess maybe, for once, the Weather Bug App may be wrong????May 12, 2014 at 9:43 am #258532The tent is huge. And there are other indoor places to get out of really bad weather.
You won’t be able to get your cars indoors.
But…a little rain is nothing. I have been at Carlisle for some truly horrendous weather, garbage cans flying around, tents blowing down, that sort of thing.
Just bring a rain jacket and maybe an umbrella. And I tend towards sandals, even if temps are a bit brisk. Your feet dry faster than shoes! 😆

May 12, 2014 at 9:48 am #258533The National weather forecast only shows a chance of rain ( 20-30% ) both days and one of the days it’s chance of thunderstorms that may not even happen. Given that I finally have a top this year I don’t see it raining. On the other hand I might bring a EZ pop up tent to make sure it does not rain.
Like you said it is still a couple of days off – could change for the better. No rain date – big tent – think positive.May 12, 2014 at 4:20 pm #258534I’m bringing a pop up too just in case. I usually bring it for shade anyway.
May 12, 2014 at 4:42 pm #258535Thanks Montie. It will get used. Last year Wobby brought one, but this year no Wobby.
May 12, 2014 at 6:42 pm #258536Hey Folks — looks like Carlisle has been trumped by family this year — I have a commitment that will keep me tied up this weekend that I can’t postpone so no Carlisle for me this year.
I do have a reservation at the Courtyard for Thurs-Sun that I’ll have to cancel. Anyone interested in tking over this room? We should be able to get the hotel to transfer the reservation — maybe???Well I guess I’ll see Ed’s SOOB and a lot of you all in October in Va Beach……Miss Ya — Mean It!! I’m off to drive my bright shiny 200 hp around the block a few times and pretend on on the Autocross track……..JackMay 12, 2014 at 8:38 pm #258537Dang.
May 12, 2014 at 8:55 pm #258538Rain here in Ohio the next few days so I won’t get much drive time, or maybe I’m just anxious. Tow bar attached, drive shaft disconnected, light bar on back, rain X on windshield and car mostly packed with tools, tent, tarp and just about anything else I think I might need . Still have to put top up and side curtains on.

I know my friend Greg ( Wolfgang ) was looking for a room and I am sure more.
I will ask – otherwise if nobody wants them here than someone on the Speedster site willMay 12, 2014 at 9:03 pm #258540PS
Sorry you will not be there – bummerMay 12, 2014 at 9:06 pm #258541See you there Montie. Don’t forget to unlock your steering.
May 12, 2014 at 9:42 pm #258542I emailed Bruce and told him the I’d see if anyone on our site was interested in the hotel room first and if not, then post it on the Speedsterowner’s site tomorrow
