I have a FF TD with a newly assembled VW duel port that runs too hot.
I have provided an air gap around the fake tire cover, changed the main jets to a much richer setting and added the rear apron tin. The last two were the most help. Has anybody installed “cool tins” under the cylinders to divert more air around the heads instead of the cylinders. Probably not necessary on a stock VW, but it appears it is helpful on dune buggy’s. Cool tins were only installed on type 3’s but rebuilders have put them on T1’s for dune buggy’s. Your thoughts or experiences are appreciated. Gregg
