As you can see, below, the factory tag on my Daytona MiGi says serial # 81/53188. It is currently registered as an ’83. I am curious as to whether the “81” in the ser # has anything to do with the actual year of manufacture. I guess my question is: Does the serial # reveal any useful information?
My BCW carries serial number 110, meaning it was the 110th one they made. We don’t know how many the company made total, but the number (with the date of delivery on the kit invoice, and other info) gives us some real info about the scale of British Coach Works’ early ’80s operation.
Bet your numbers mean something too. It’s only a matter of deciphering them.
