    @mr-bill

    Afternoon MG-TD lovers,

    My MG replica is on a ’73 VW chassis. I have installed the front disc brake kit and love it. I have purchased a set of the EMPI style 8 spoke wheels and had them power coated red like the car body.

    My problem is a clearance issue on both front wheels and a casting on the side of the outer caliper about the size of a nickle. Two of the spokes on each front wheel make contact with the raised area of the outer caliper.

    Since I have already had the wheel power coated I don’t want to grind on them. Does anyone know how much of that raised area I can grind off?

    I did obtain clearance by adding a flat washer between the wheel and the hub by placing a flat washer on each stud. The flat washer is about 1/16″ thick.

    Thanks you,

    Mr. Bill

    I consulted with two mechanics that had not worked on V.W.?s but their general experience was they had never encountered a problem grinding that lug down on any vehicle as long as no more than two thousands was removed.

    I followed there instructions and it worked out correctly.
