    @pmossberg

After too many weekends in the garage…I’m finally able to just go out and drive.

Did about sixty miles this afternoon. Stopped in for service, but I guess “The Man Who Wears The Star was not in!

Everything is fine with the Duchess Bill. Thanks for asking.

Can’t say the same for the 65 Plymouth. I’ve received the same suspicion from a good friend who is a retired mechanic and a local guy who has a bunch of old Mopars and a highly recommended auto service business…stretched timing chain or the timing chain has jumped a tooth. Either would cause the cam and ignition to be out of sync, regardless of what I do with the timing.

Paul, I’ve heard of that with Mopars.  If that is what it is, there is no amount of tuning with carbs, or timing that will make her run good.  Why not take a nice ride in your TD to Va Beach?  Bring Schu and Ed.  Where the heck is Wobby or does he only check in just before Carlisle?

Everything I’m able to do on the Plymouth, I have done. Sadly it’s time to bring her to an expert and fix her with the MC wrench (aka Master Card).

I’m thinking about the VA Beach event. It’s a vacation time thing. Not sure I have the days.

Added sixty miles today. Running great.
Followed by an ice cold Gin & Tonic, which is also running great!

My confidence in the car is building too! With all the troubles, I keep waiting for something else to happen. But it’s looking good!

Thanks for all the support and help!

Somewhere along the line, one of you asked about the new engine. Here’s a description:

    1776 cc, dual port
    New Mahle cylinders and pistons,
    New Engle 120 cam,
    New Scat lifters,
    Counter weighted 8 doweled crank,
    Rebuilt rods,
    MOFOCO 042
heads with single HD valve springs,
    Dual Solex Pict 34 carbs
    Pertronix Ignitor ignition & coil.

And a new fuel pump! Ermm
