I have a Ford based TD I’ve owned for the last 10 years.  I need a new speedometer cable and i can’t find a reference.  I bought a Pinto cable but it doesn’t match.  Is this a VW Ford Hybrid?

    Welcome to the group!

Sorry, I have an electric speedo so I don’t know any part numbers. However, you might check with the manufacturer of the gauge.  They may require something defferent than the stock Pinto cable.

My baby is dismantled right now. I can pull my cable out and measure it for you if that would help.

Just about all the major parts stores carry a universal cable.Just cut to the needed length, comes with the crimp on end and little tool to do the crimping.Best way to cut is with a cut off wheel on a dremel tool.

Early Fprd Mustangs had a screw on end at the speedo. You will find the ’67 model with manual trans has the longest length and will accomodate the speedo gear required.
