Roy — I haven’t yet bought anything from this outfit, but their website is intriguing. Maybe you can find a radio through them: http://www.retrosoundusa.com/

1600 cc Type 1 engineMay 16, 2012 at 6:33 pm #250511Thanks Bill. The current radio in MiGi was installed by the prior owner and it has all sorts of information displayed on the dial. Far more than I want. As a consequence, none of it is very large font or very readable even if you are right in front of it except at night time. From the drivers seat, the LED/LCD display it totally unreadable. Plus, it does not have a knob to tune with, only those fancy electronic things. I guess I’m just too damn old but I want an old fashioned radio with push buttons and a dial indicator that I can see. Retro-sound is on my list to look at if I ever get to a city large enough to see one “in person”. The “off axis” viewing that they advertise may do the trick for me. Thanks for your help.

May 16, 2012 at 7:49 pm #250515First installed w/ old fashioned faceplate with 2 knobs.
Got old quick. Crutchfield supplied me with a new piece
that does CD,HD, SD Card, USB, Aux, with Bluetooth
streaming audio and full iPod control for under $200.
We all know you can’t listen to your radio at speed so
I’ve run speaker wires to a headphone jack in the E-brake
cover. Ta-da, hands free phone even.Bill Ascheman

"Drive Happy"May 16, 2012 at 8:01 pm #250516Looking at the new member posts, we went off track a bit RADIOS started getting talked about so I figured I’d put in my 2 cents if you look in some local junk yards a factory MG “B” and Midget raido box may be what you are looking for they bolt to the floor and have a speaker and 2 rocker switches my B was metal and covered with leather look vinyl ugly but can be refinished how ever you like as most junk yards many choices of radios new and old .
