Right near the top of there is the blue banner containing the ad title, then the bold faced “Bidding has ended….”; then “Sell an item like this….” and then centered in the page, but easy to miss, the notation that the seller ended early.
Once you have bids on an item, Ebay makes it a bit difficult to cancel the auction. This is intentional. And meant to discourage sellers closing auctions just because they feel like it. First you have to reject each bid, with an explanation. Then you can cancel the auction.
Typically, a seller will end an auction early because the item has been sold locally.
This seller has over 500 feedbacks; with a 100% positive rating over the last 12 months. He might have ended the auction because he did not like the bid progress. But he had a reserve, so the car would not have sold unless he got the money he was looking for. I would bet the auction closed for good reason.
