    @montie

Does anyone remember where the shirts were ordered from last year for Carlisle?  Anyone else  interested in getting one?

Don’t recall any shirts last year.
But then my short term memory hasn’t been all that great!

Wow, I must be having a senior moment.  I thought several of you bought polo shirts with the TD’ replica logo on the one side of the front and name on the other.  I looked for the 2013 Carlisle posts but it’s gone.   Well, any interest in trying to do something like that.  Hawaiian is fine with me if that’s what everyone wants.

I think it was Ed who came up with the polo shirt with the TD design and on the back was a statement of  “TDReplica.com=more fun per $” or close to that. Someone has an embroider they went to and we sent what we wanted to them and they let us know when the shirt was ready and we paid them to ship to us. I’ve had mine now for a couple of years. I may need to order another pretty soon.

Thanks Allen.  I thought someone had done something before.

I did some research this morning and some artwork with a friends help (well he actually did it while I watched) here is what I came up with.

Well I can’t attach the pictures of the art work, the files are too big (3.3mb).  Paul or somebody that knows how to reduce the pictures or make them work send me a PM and I’ll email the images to you and maybe you can post them for approval.   They are Victor artwork images ready to go at a print shop, silk screen, or embroidery shop.

The shop I went to priced the polo’s with 1 color silk screen, small to xl 25.00 to 30.00, 2.00 extra for tall or xxl, and 2.00 for each x added.  Price was approx. 30.00 for 12 shirts or 25.00 if we order 24.

Allen is right. They have your name on the pocket and an embroidered likeness of a TD. I put the “more fun per $” slogo on the back of mine but I don’t think everyone did.

Can’t find the thread with the maker either. These are nice shirts and they were not much money.

These are the pictures Montie wanted to post, but they were too large.

The first is a black and white version of our club badge.

The second appears to be artwork that I have seen elsewhere on the web. I do not know if it is copyrighted or not.

That should work good on a shirt.

Paul the second one is a combination of 2 different Victor stock designs.  We changed them quite a bit then combined into one.  Shouldn’t be a problem with copyright unless we actually tried to sell the artwork by itself.  I’m planning on having a couple of those made for me, even if not for Carlisle.  If nothing else I’ll do a iron on transfer.

I’m shopping around on the internet and finding several suppliers lots cheaper, well on their advertised prices anyway.  I haven’t actually emailed the art work to them yet, waiting till I get feedback from everyone else.

Here’s the shirt I and others got a couple of years ago. Most who got them had the TD the same color as their car.

I’m still checking prices and suppliers.  So far the local guy seems high on price for a silk screened shirt.   I have found where I can get a nice looking 50 50 cotton poly, white pocket polo for about 7.00 each in bulk 12 minimum or 6.50 each for 24, plain no embroidery or silk screen.   I can do the iron transfer for about 50 cents.  I’m going to get some transfers made and do one of my old shirts to see how it looks.  I did fine one on line supplier for embroidered shirts for about 17.00, minimum of 12.  So far there has only been couple of people interested.   If someone has a contact in the business I can send them the artwork email or on a usb flash drive.

If you’re going to do thermal transfer instead of silk screen (more durable, but much more expensive), you guys may want to consider a “club” store at Cafe Press:

They print on demand, handle all the ordering, payment, shipping, etc.  The design could also be added to coffee mugs, mouse pads, and all kinds of stuff…
Is this where the recent club calendar came from?  I don’t remember…

I believe the calendars did come from Café Press.

I checked Café Press, polo prices there start at 30.00.  Best I’ve found is Cheapestee’s.com.  24 white embroidered polo’s for 13.54 each small to xl 2xl of larger is 3.55 extra.

I understand, Montie — if you can get 24 advance orders, and all the sizes are right, and if you don’t get stuck with a bunch that don’t sell, don’t fit, etc….

That is THE big advantage of “on demand” — there’s never any extras, there’s no minimum buy, and if someone ends up with the wrong size, it is between them and the seller, etc.
No one gets stuck in the middle… has to deal with returns or dissatisfied customers, or is left holding the bag. BTW, those are likely retail prices…
After that happened to me once, I set up this Cafe Press store for a garden tractor club I founded 15 years ago.  It’s still running, and people can order what they want, when they want it, and I don’t have any additional headaches… I make no money from it (it’s basically on a break-even basis) and the “golf shirt” aka polo shirts are $20.99…
These prices are a better indicator of what things would really cost, though I think the hats (most popular item) are marked up 50 cents or something similar to cover the $6 a month cost (because there’s there’s so many designs/items — I think small “stores” are still free..).

    I like that t-shirt.

But then too, we could go a bit more upscale.
