I’m back, sort of. Had a couple tears in my left rotator cuff. Surgery last Fri. Looks like I’ll be out of comission for at least a couple more weeks. Not sure if I can even get in and out of Audrey. The sling is a huge foam box.
I did manage to get most everything done to her before I went down. So, if the weather breaks, she’s ready for a cruise even if I’m not. Maybe I’ll let the wife finally drive her and I’ll be navigator. &n bsp;
April 9, 2011 at 11:11 am #244212Montie, Glad you made it thru the surgery. My wife had that a few years ago and we found that physical therapy is a very important ,tho painful part of recovery. I wish you well.It sure feels different in the passenger seat but this could lead to a good end if she gets hooked on the TD.
April 9, 2011 at 11:15 am #244213Here’s praying for your quick recovery so you can enjoy your ride soon.
Finally took mine out yesterday. Got new tires put on and did a little bit of work on it then did a short ride and put back in the garage.
April 9, 2011 at 1:16 pm #244214You are in my prayers Montie!
The rehab IS critical. It’ll hurt like heck, but will be worth it.
I wish I could say I was driving my Duchess. But her new engine is only partially built. And the car and engine are being held hostage by a very uncooperative future ex-wife. Haven’t been able to get near the car for two months. And I am not sure she will be done for Carlisle. So enjoy the drives you lucky guys!

April 9, 2011 at 2:28 pm #244215Paul, I’m sorry to hear of your situation. Must be somewhat like being between a rock and a hard place. I have been so blessed to have a long and happy marriage. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope all this works out for you.
April 9, 2011 at 8:38 pm #244216Thank you Larry.
Sorry folks. I did nto mean to steal the thread. Just a little jealous of all the “driving my car stories”
Let’s give the thread back to Montie, with prayers for a successful rehab from his surgery!

April 10, 2011 at 11:41 am #244217Thanks for the prayers guys. Back to the Doc’s tomorrow and start rehab.
Paul, sorry to here about your situation. Hopefully your soon to be ex will give up custody soon. Come on down to Dayton and I’ll let you drive mine, at least around the block.
April 10, 2011 at 6:15 pm #244218Beautiful day here in Ohio…About 80* sunny, Took off the huge box sling from the shoulder and made a smaller one (Dr. said I could rest it couple hrs a day from that contraption). Just couldn’t resist a ride!!!! I’m sure glad Audrey has an automatic… Wife and I just got back from 2 hr drive. No problems, little strange only using rt arm for everything (closing the door, buckleing seat belt etc).
April 10, 2011 at 8:39 pm #244219Montie, Good for you !!!That ride probably did more good than a whole afternoon of rest and doing nothing.
I went for a ride too and the little skip I have been ignoring suddenly got worse about 15 mi. from home. I did a quick turnarround and made it back ok. Guess I’ll be diagnosing it tomorrow.
April 10, 2011 at 9:53 pm #244220Montie! Good on ya for getting out and about. Hope the rotator heals up soon.
Paul: Sorry to hear about your trouble. Hope you can get back to the car soon.
April 11, 2011 at 9:16 pm #244221Montie, Glad it’s your left arm. What ever you do take it slow and easy with that rotator cuff repair. I’m a Physical Therapist (some say terrorist) and I hate working on those ’cause they are so slow to heal properly. What they sewed together is about the same as sewing together a slice of bologna. Very, very fragile. Be sure to follow your therapist’s directions to the letter and don’t get in a hurry to start wrenching any time soon. Good Luck
PS. It will probably be more like a couple of months instead of weeks. The surgeons never tell you that part.
