Just came across this Craigslist ad on the MG forum. Early 1980s TF replica built on a Chevette using a Brazilian shell. Dig those funky Lafer-like doors!
This is no Lafer though, and could be a deal for someone who wants something, as the Pythons said, “completely different.”
Located east bay, San Francisco area.
July 29, 2012 at 11:30 am #251226Ed. Not sure if its Brazillian. Did find these ten TDs for sale on the samba. Interesting thing is someone has an ad for [WTB] and above that person’s ad there are at least 4 TDs for sale. What’s up with that?

July 29, 2012 at 2:38 pm #251229That’s a nicer one than mine–the NC BCW–no doubt.
Mine’s only gonna get crustier the longer I own it.:-)
July 29, 2012 at 5:06 pm #251230Ed,
Paul likes to refer to the crustiness as “patina”.
Keep in mind mine is far crustier than yours.Bill Ascheman

November 24, 2012 at 8:08 pm #251234Seems a little high to me since you can still buy a driver for 3,000 to 3500 if you look. Also if the body has lots of cracks in the gel coat you are in for lots of work ( ask me how I know ) so take your time and check that closely. Engine and pan and everything included? I believe I would check it out and then make a cash offer in the 1500.00 range if it looks OK. My two cents
November 24, 2012 at 8:54 pm #251235Schu, rolling pan not included. The more I thought about it,I’am going to pass, your right ,you can find a driver for a little more. Thanks.
November 24, 2012 at 9:15 pm #251236Good advice Schu!
And good decision Tex!

November 24, 2012 at 9:49 pm #251238Yep! I paid less than that asking price for my unbuilt kit. Then had to find a chassis. Got a steal on the chassis. Go choice to let it go. Keep looking…you’ll find one out there that’s calling your name.
