I have a Daytona MIGI (Chevette) I just got a set of 15in wheels that look like the original MG type steel wheels. I have not figured out the center caps yet, back to tires I’m looking at 165-15 the real question black wall or wide (2″) white wall ???
the body is a ture white gelcoat
the car has the Chevette 13’s on it but they are dry rotted
December 1, 2010 at 10:11 pm #243121You really didn’t ask for my opinion, but I prefer black. I had whitewalls on the white TD that I sold and when I changed to black tires it gave the car an entirely different look.
Did you find new wheels ? I have only seen two replicas with the wheels you describe, both were Chevette based cars and used center caps that were held in place by the lug nuts, one had MG emblems fitted to them.Bob’s Classic Cars in Florida still has one in the ”sold” section of the ”what’s in stock” listings. It’s way down the list and shows a close up of one wheel in one of the last pictures.
December 1, 2010 at 10:16 pm #2431222 cents worth ,,,,I like black wall tireswow the only 15 in. 4 lug wheels rear wheel drive i know of were on Olds F85 early 60s My chevette based car has 14 inch B/W   ; Dan

Also, you might check into the original MG hubcaps. I believe they were held on by steel clips that were affixed somehow to the wheels. Moss has ’em for $25 each and the Bay has ’em too from time to time.
Good luck.
December 2, 2010 at 9:19 am #243124I like the wide white walls but I’m too cheap to pay for them. I think if you go to my gallery you’ll se a poster of all our tires and hubcaps might help with desision
December 2, 2010 at 10:03 am #243125Look in suntansailor’s gallery and you can see the same car with black and then wide whites. It’s a light yellow car so the overall effect would be the same as on a white car.
December 2, 2010 at 4:20 pm #243126white walls= “elegance”
black walls=sporty
I like the black walls meself but seen some real purdy white-walled cars
December 2, 2010 at 8:03 pm #243127I’m going with the Black walls maybe the next set will be white walls
I will post a picture of the wheels in a few days my son has them he will be bringing them to me tomorrow I have to strip them and paint them gray/silver
