    @edsnova

In part inspired by the Court Wiz, in part out of fear (having noticed that fully two out of our hoped-for Carlisle Contingent have already experienced mechanical difficulties), I have fabricated a rough yet spacious and handy removable tool tray what stows under the existing “trunk” floor under Bridget’s bonnet.

used a door from one of the many cabinets the previous homeowner hung about the garage. there’s a piece of 2 x 3 screwed under the front of this, notched to clear the bolts on the front beam. The floor of this thing rides about 2 inches above the beam, seems to clear the steering linkage. Rear supports are bits of angle iron riveted to the ‘glass tub.

A fairly spacious thing, if I do say so myself. Probably will want to do something different to secure some of the tools. Maybe make a “wrap” like the original TDs had. Also probably will line the box with something soft to kill the rattly sounds. Meanwhile,

salvaged some foam from the office recycle bin yesterday. Don’t think this crap is recyclable anyway. And then,

Ha! I still gots all my “trunk space,” some of which used to be tookin’ up by that jack & 4-way. Ok you Ford & Chevette guys, see how convenient & roomy these cars can be once you eliminate all that tiresome horsepower from the front of the car?

Side curtains: present & accounted for, and still room for a cooler full of Pimms & maybe even a change of clothes. I, uh, hope.

    Good idea Ed.

My Duchess has room under the front trunk floor. Gas tank is on one side, but there is room on the floor pan on the lefts side. I may do something similar.

I like the idea. I actually carry sa rollup that I got from dilith trading co

It probably comes from the times I spent on the side of the road with my model t

I am going to invest in an adjustabble light tha sets on a little tripod because

There would never be a need for fixin your moel a or t at night because the dam

lights aren’t bright enough anyways. The other thing I want to clarify no good can

ever come from a 5 am repair when your plane leaves at 8 and you have nothing but

25 miles of toll road between you and the airport or should I call that tool road.

I really thing I just have to spend a little time getting to know ally better that

would help. I think she just could wait to see all you guys and didn’t want to leave

In closing did you all know all my posts since monday have been via blackbberry.

OK, I’m a little uncomfortable with us all being “…right there in (your) pocket….”

Your eyes must be way better than mine! I just looked at tdreplica on my blackberry. You’re right, the site does work OK. But even zoomed in a couple times, the text is pretty dang small.

I’ll probably pack the e-brake cables too, since I got them, and a spare tach (anyone want a brand new white Classic Instruments tach? I bought the wrong one). Maybe I should bring an extra cylinder and piston assembly too, in case one goes.

    And a rebuilt transaxle.

Pretty soon your going to need a trailer for all your stuff 🙂

The ultimate tool is a cell phone and AAA.

Ed, there’s nothing like great advice from your friends!!!!

Rob is right…AAA and a cell phone is better than a Snap-On tool box filled with their expensive shiny new tools!

Cell phones: 2 present & accounted for.

    AAA membership: check.

I think my insurance company offers towing too, but shouldn’t need two tow trucks. . . .

The plan, if we break down, is to have AAA tow her to Carlisle. Even if we’re 100 feet from our driveway

Took her to work & back today. All systems go.
