I have to tow on a dolly my mgtd from Michigan to Florida my question is do i tow it with rear wheels on dolly and put a strap from steering wheel to pedals to stop them turning or front wheels on dolly with steering wheel secured any input really appreciated

September 6, 2024 at 8:02 pm #309076I have towed my London Roadster and my 1967 VW Beetle flat with a tow bar. Put the gear shift in neutral and DO NOT tie the steering wheel. You CANNOT back up with a car on a dolly or a tow bar. If your tow vehicle is rated anything over 2500 lbs, you should keep an eye on the towed car to make sure it is still there. You won’t feel it. I have used s tow dolly before and it was more trouble than a tow bar.

September 7, 2024 at 3:24 pm #309079My tdr has been towed thousands of miles in neutral with a tow bar do not tie your steering you need that pivot point
September 7, 2024 at 5:25 pm #309081I just flat towed my TDr 3-1/2 hours each way last weekend. Make sure it’s in neutral, parking brake is off and the column is unlocked.
