If you’re looking for more room, cutting the seat back for height and moving it back onto the storage area is quite easy. Just mount it where you’re comfortable. Perfect time to add seat heaters.

Unfortunately copy and paste have decided not to cooperate today.
The website is “www.carlisleevents.com”. Under event schedule you’ll find the “Import and Performance Nationals”.
We piggyback with another club, the “Speedster Owners Group”, and take over a local hotel for an extended weekend. Dedicated parking area with space for trailers and…[Read more]

Welcome, John.
Very pretty car. Love the color scheme.
Don’t know where you’re from, but the big meet at Carlisle is coming up May 14-15. If you can make it we’d love to see it.

billnparts replied to the topic What color is my '52 Duchess? in the forum VW Based Kits 3 years, 4 months ago
Originally these were not painted. It’s gel coat.I painted mine in ignorance. The gel coat could probably have been brought back to life.
There is a thread or two in the forums.

Al, that usually is covered by the Speedster group. Once they negotiate the dates and rooms they will post. Most likely we’ll be back at the Marriott in Mechanicsburg.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Took longer than i expected to post these. Computer programs upgrade and change how everything works just as you get comfortable with them.
Anyway, the final photos of the upgrade.
The panel being finished.
The finished panel.
Didn’t turn out too bad. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for who it’s for.
See you in Carlisle.

billnparts replied to the topic Convertible Top Straps Question in the forum VW Based Kits 3 years, 8 months ago
On mine, the rear bow slides into a sleeve sewn into the top. There is an opening in that sleeve near each end where you take that strap and loop it over the rear bow. Then just loop it over the front bar and adjust with the buckle to where the top looks right.

We ran a new 8ga cable and everything works just fine. With everything turned on there is no smoke escaping. So on to fixing the hole in the side panel.
A trip to the local craft store supplied a Styrofoam ball.
Enlarged the hole to allow clearance for further adjustment if ever needed.
Cut a section off the ball and shaped it to resemble…[Read more]

As I had stated in the VA Beach thread, I had begun to upgrade the alternator in the Beast. What I thought would be a 20 minute job snowballed into several days.
First, the seven foot bolts Ford uses on their front cover and alternators required removing the radiator, which meant removing the grille, which required removing the right side side…[Read more]
