Not a VW based owner, but such a minor cut should not produce any problems. It looks to be welded up nice and tight. Seats look comfy. Very good.

I’m registered for the hotel, signed up for the Saturday dinner and the winery tour, and registered at Carlisle.
Don’t know if I’ll drive Bridget or the Spyder this year, but I’ll be there.

Spent the past several days making two six-inch long manifolds to link my fuel pumps—which don’t even work and are strictly for looks. Here’s the very long, lavishly-illustrated story of that.
Here’s what we got now:

These are the instructions Ed posted for photos. They work.
First you go to your own thing. Upper right corner it should say something like “Howdy, Happy Jack.” Click on that and you get a drop-down menu. At the bottom it says “media.” Hover over that with your curser and you should see another drop-down menu with “albums,” “photos” “vi…[Read more]

“Reeks,” though, not “wreaks.”
If something reeks, it stinks.
If it stinks bad enough (say, in a fancy restaurant), it might wreak havoc.

Hi Kall,
Haven’t driven it enough since the list showed up to notice tire wear. I would suppose that eventually that would happen.

Hi Roy and Ed! Well, not good news. Removing the tub is way above my skill level. I might have to live with this for a while.

Mine is like this too, a little bit. I believe your car is IRS (double-jointed) like mine. Roy is right that the torsion bars are probably a little out of adjustment, and that, in our cars, you can’t get to the caps without unbolting the tub.
I believe that the torsion bar bushings are also the problem. They tend to wear unevenly, and they…[Read more]

The replacement capacitor seems to have done the trick. Let’s hope it holds.
Here’s the next problem:
The car has been listing to port for a while. I put in coil-overs hoping that would fix the problem but now I have a higher car that lists to port. I also notice that the camber on the rear wheels is off. When you look at it from the rear it…[Read more]
