I already reserved a 10 x 40 parking spot for a trailer on the show grounds but based on the comments above I will plan to park at the Hotel. That location is certainly much better from a convenience point of view.
Bruce has my RSVP form. I have signed up for all the cruises and meals. Sounds like a lot of fun.:D

I’ve been shopping for a cargo trailer to make the trip a little easier on me and the TD. If I do trailer to Carlisle, is it better to park it at the show grounds or at the hotel?

I finally took Ed’s advice and made reservations to attend Carlisle in May. All the chatter here on the forum makes it sound well worth the 500 mile trip. I plan to arrive Thursday afternoon and head for home on Sunday.
I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know those that will also be there. Can’t wait until May! 🙂 -

Thanks for the link. I ordered the race catalog (also online in digital format). Ordered the T-bucket catalog for dreaming about possible next project.

I have the same MR600 that Paul has on the dash and it works very well for me. The flat fender mirrors that came with the kit are nearly impossible to get adjusted and I have to be very carefull not to move them when I put my cover on and take it off.

Boy that was quick. I just now viewed the post and was thinking it’s a good idea. I’m sure many of us don’t get a chance to log on every day or if we do have the time to post an imediate reply.
It would certainly be helpful to be able to view the details of other like cars while doing a build or upgrading an one that’s been around awhile. It… -

I agree with most of gkesseru’s engineering thoughts except for the master cylinder versus slave cylinder diameter effect on brake force. The smaller the MC piston area relative to to the slave piston area the greater the force multiplication. That means changing to a smaller MC piston bore will require less pedal pressure but at the same time…[Read more]

I’ve put about 35 miles on my (Ford) MGTD and am very pleased, so far. with the ride and handling provided by the new 275 lb front coils and new shocks. I don’t have a good basis for comparison because the car is new and I haven’t driven any other similar cars.

I did not replace the shocks that came with the car when I purchased it. Why do you feel the shocks are two short? With shocks removed, car sitting normal, the length between tops and bottom shock mount is 11″ left side and 10.5″ right. The original shocks, Monroe 32118, are 11″ at full extension allowing for no upward movement or bounce and are…[Read more]

Rob,
I installed the 275 lb springs as you described in the first post above. It raised the front end at the wheels about 2″. It now looks good and level with adequate clearance between tire and fender.I found the original shocks (Monroe-Matic 32118) are a bit short. Did you replace your shocks? If so, do you know the make and part number? -

Thanks guys for the helpful input.
I did originally modify the bracket by cutting and bending as the assembly manual indicated. I welded the cut and painted the bracket so the modification doesn’t show much. If unmodified I think the cable would have run into the side of the master cylinder.Yesterday I lubed the cable and it’s much fre… -

The copper strap is the ground connection to the lamp in the gauge. I installed a nut between the meter housing and the mounting bracket to space the bracket off the strip. This also allows for tightening the mounting nuts without over stressing the guage housing. As I recall, I made new aluminum brackets with the correct length legs. Pictures…[Read more]
