the brake resevoir is in the front trunk. You have to take the carpet out that is on the bottom, pull the side shelf out , take the bottom plate(board) out and it is under that. Master cylinder is there also.

So far I have found out that there are only 2 different ATE caliper’s that VW used that are 2 pin. One takes a 60mm pad the other takes a 55mm pad. (width) I take the 55mm. Getting close now.

Richard Shear replied to the topic 1986 LONDON ROADSTER SHOCKS in the forum VW Based Kits 13 years, 8 months ago
Got the car up on the lift yesterday and to my suprise, it has coil springs on the rear with a chock in the middle. So now I have to find just a standard shock, not a coilover. The front has a coilover shock.
The code on the shock was C6024 which I am having a hard time finding out what it is. Got to match it to something as one shock is broke.…[Read more] -

Thank you for your input. It does have a metal crafter’s chassis. How do I find out what to buy, or do I have to pull one out to see ? Has anyone pulled the rear shock out ? What all is involved ? Can’t hardly see the top of the rear shock to see how it is mounted. Don’t have any equipment to get it in the air.

I have a set of headlight grille’s that I can’t use. Not legal in NY. If you haven’t got any yet I have them. I beleive they are the original ones that London Roadster used.

My Roadster is on the road and I love driving it. It is 50 state legal and gets a safety inspection at any local inspection station. It has a metal crafters chassis with the coil over. It is weather tight. A perfect top and side windows, also have a taunea cover. It was converted to a 12V system. Been trying to post a picture in the gallery but I…[Read more]
