Yep, I would guess most all of us have tried to put gasoline in a styrofoam cup. 

I am embarrassed to admit that my experience was the same as yours. The gas went right through the bottom of the cup as the bottom instantly dissolved away when I poured the gas in.

I would spend the extra money to get the heavier ones. I wouldn’t want to do the pan replacement job twice.

Since you have the body off and can get at it easily, you might want to relocate the emergency brake handle from the current location under the dash to a spot between the seats. Do a search for “emergency brake lever” and you will find information on the project.

Is the shifter set back too far in the picture of the spare pan? It almost looks like it is almost where the e-brake should be relocated to.

Do you think the carburetor intake running from the fan shroud could be someone’s idea for a “poor man’s supercharger”? 

Those posts look like a remote access for the battery which looks like it is under the cover.

It looks like all that Royal had to do to cover the bottom mounting hole was to move the sticker to the right. Nifty way to finish it off.
