I used them specifically for the majority of my VW parts. When traveling to and from GA to WI I go right through Effingham, IL where they are located and have stopped in and purchased items for my Ghia. Great bunch of folks.

Thanks Paul. With the speakers behind you the sound should be fine. I have a pair of 6 inch round speakers so I think I’ll just order the boom mat speaker foams.

Can you actually hear the music from back there? It seems like you should hear them better than if they were under the front seats. But what about engine noise?
Also…do you have front speakers as well. I was thinking of using the VW angled speaker mounts for the front.

I agree with Kent here. The Bowden Tube also has an adjustment procedure to ensure the correct play/give. Its adjusted to the proper value by adding or taking away a washer between the Bowden Tube and the transaxle bracket the tube goes through.
This is covered in the Haynes manual for your year VW.newkitman2015-11-10 17:00:01 -

Update on the windshield post end caps/cowl caps. I emailed MG Magic and their reply is below. I suspect if we email/call them our requests, that should give them a fairly accurate number of requests. Who knows…it might sway their decision our way. We do have a large membership who have shown interest in them.We are sending our samples out…

I believe here in GA the antique plate is pretty much cost prohibitive and also the driving requirements are similar to IL. At least that’s my understanding. I’ll be applying for a tag that reads 53 MGTD.

Not to worry Paul. I have all the forms required by SEMA filled out and will date and sign them and get the VIN# inspection paperwork signed by the county sheriff’s office.
All will be ready by spring so when I walk into the DMV office I’ll have any kind of paperwork they need; whether the main office in Perry or the annex in Warner Robins. (And…[Read more] -

Update on all the paperwork. Went to the DMV and asked for copies of the Georgia FV forms to title my car. They said why are you doing that? We don’t issue titles to any vehicles older than 1980. The TD replica is for a 53 and the VW is a 1971.
Take this VIN # certification and get it inspected by someone from the county sheriff’s office and have… -

Its not like the car is ready yet BUT 5 – 6 weeks of good weather will have her ready to test drive. Thanks for all the help with all my i…[Read more] - Load More
