Steve. I agree with Paul. AND…once you pull the left front wheel cover you’ll either see the c-clip or you might see a cotter pin depending on the year model of the VW.  If you don’t see either problem solved.

My Fiberfab/CMC tdr has the engine cover hinged at the top and the spare bracket is the two stud type drilled through the spare tire mount on the engine cover. I like the idea of a full spare. Plus having the spare on the engine cover is the way the MGTD was designed to be.newkitman2015-10-26 07:02:48

Paul. Your Duchess link was great except for the Fiberfab frame I had to use #8 x 1 inch rather than #8 x 1/2 inch. The 1/2 inch screw threads would barely reach the frame piece. 1 inch worked just right. Thanks.

Thanks Paul. I’ll bring it with me to the DMV office. We have two county DMV offices; one here in Warner Robins and one about 10 miles south in Perry, GA.
And they both operate differently. I prefer the office in Perry. They seem much nicer and have more on the ball.

Thanks all. I have a MSO from Fiberfab and the Bill of Sale so I’ll get Moneypenny registered this spring hopefully as a 1952 VW MGTD replica. Not sure how they will title her but I will get the title.
Maybe they’ll register her the same way they Title her.

John. Does your turn signal switch have an emergency flasher switch built into it like the universal T/S switch sold by CIP1?
