Ah. Got it.
Sorry. I interpreted “liner” as something to put in the tank.
Back to your regularly scheduled program. Hope some other CMC owners are able to help.

Your VIN is a VW VIN.
119219037 is a Type 1 (Beetle) built in September 1968.

Hard to beleive teh VIN is not stamped on your VW pan. The VIN isn’t really “between your seats.” It is further back on the VW pan, near the access plate for the shift rod to…[Read more]

Allen,
What problem are you trying to solve with a liner?
What kind of gas tank? VW?
FWIW… I’ve never seen a “liner” for a VW tank. And I’m not coming up with a pretty picture, trying to imagine how one would install it. I have seen POR15 used as a tank sealant, after the tank is properly cleaned.

Sounds like power is getting to the starter. I vote either the solenoid is bad, or the starter itself. But I’m far from an expert!

Good luck Bill!
I’m an air-cooled TDr guy, so don’t have much expertise in this area. Btu I’m sure others will chime in!

Not suggesting a solution yet, but have a question that might help the diagnosis…
When the charger is hooked up, do lights, signals and other accessories work?
And when you attach the charger, I assume you are putting the charger clips on the battery cable clamps (that is, not directly on the battery posts) ?

Some additional info re: the build process:
The hardtop was built using 1/2″ conduit covered with canvas and painted to match Andy’s London Roadster. It can be installed and/or removed in under a minute. The bimini top is constructed of 2″ Foamular board covered with canvas. It can also be installed and/or removed in under a minute. -

The “T” series started in 1936. But the CraigList ad above is simply incorrect.
Our replicas are modeled on the TD, which were produced from 1949 to 1953.
Here’s the model year breakdown:
- 1936 – 1939 MG TA Midget
- 1939 – 1939 MG TB Midget
- 1945 – 1949 MG TC Midget
- 1949 – 1953 MG TD Midget
- 1953 – 1955 MG TF Midget
