Paul Mossberg replied to the topic What kit car is this? in the forum General Discussion 9 years ago
Whew…this is going to be a difficult one.
I’ve been around the hobby since 1980 or so.
In all those years, I do not recall seeing this.
The body sure looks like a TD replica. Maybe the split windscreen is the current (or prior) owner’s idea, grafted off a different car?

Darn. No more viewing party.
The launch is delayed until at least Sunday. A key tracking station is in Bermuda; and Bermuda is currently under threat from Hurricane Nicole.

Friday Night Viewing Party
ThisĀ is pretty cool.
Friday October 14, at 8:51, Orbital Sciences will be launching a space station resupply mission from Wallups Island VA.
Should be a pretty cool view from the VA Beach boardwalk.

As was mentioned above, the “left side/right side” issue is relative to which way your hood opens.
You want the filler neck on the same side as the opening.
if the filler is on the same side as the hood hinge, it’s difficult to get to.

Thanks David! Your comments are spot on with regard to identifying a VW donor chassis and the engine info.
Boltonboy also asked about identifying the kit manufacturer.
Most manufacturers provided some sort of serial number plate, normally riveted to either a door jam, or on the front “firewall.” Of course, for home built kits, the owner may…[Read more]
