Hi Chuck,I did a google search for “mg wind wings” and found one E-bay-UK hit for a UK based seller with three pairs available. Paul Mossberg replied to the topic new guy/CAN A v8 fit???? in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 7 months ago
Hey new guy from NJ. Where are you? There’s a street rod running around north NJ with a V8 stuffed into an original MG TD. So that probably means it would fit into a front engine based TD replica. I’ve never seen one done tho. But…when you finish…I want ride!

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Glove box size? in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 7 months ago
Hi Ringo,I searched and cannot find measurements. A friend of mine is restoring (slowly…very slowly) an original TD. I could ask him. Let me know. Or you might be able to make an educated guess by using these photos. One is of a dash parts diagram. The other is from a company that makes TD (and other) dashes out of a variety of woods. Just print…[Read more]

Hi Rob,In case we don’t hear from anyone with a front engine TD, my VW based TD is about 1900 pounds. Not an exact comparison, but I hope it helps.

Hi Chuck,
Beautiful car. Good luck!
You have a Classic Roadsters Duchess. The give-away is the small bump in the rear fenders where they meet the running boards.
You asked about the seats and seat belts.
My very off the record suggestion…get over it. 🙂
The best way to attach three point belts is in cars with a roll bar. If you have a roll bar,…[Read more] -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic turn signal wiring in the forum VW Based Kits 16 years, 8 months ago
Based solely on my experience with my Classic roadsters Duchess, the fender mirrors bolt through fibergalss only…they are no where near any metal that is, in turn, connected to the chassis.
Your kit may be different. And if the mirrors do bolt through metal that is somehow connected to the chassis, then yes, you coudl run a short ground wire…[Read more] -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Informal Poll; Which wheel. in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 8 months ago
Todd,
The beauty of the kit car world…it’s all up to owner choice.
I ran wire wheel covers for t efirst 20 years my TD replica was on the road.
Then I switched to a steel wheel painted in the correct TD gray, with chrome hubcaps with original TD centers. the caps are not exact to the TD style…but close enough. Take a look in the pmossberg gallery. -

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Another "newbie" in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 8 months ago
Larry’s description is the common approach to many manufacturer’s TD kits. I have seen none where the “flat bar” actually bends around the corners of the windshield frame slot.
Classic Roadsters tops had small tabs the fit into the slot on the two sides. But they are separate pieces from the main bar. AAnd they were sewn into the fabric of the…[Read more] -

Neat. Too bad there’s not a lot of room for that in a VW based kit. Although I might be able to do something like a large glove box.
