Bebop…correct. Original TC, TD and TF had rear hinged doors.As do most replicas.MP Lafer is an exception. They engineered solid side windows that would open and close with the doors. And it kind of required a front hinged door.

I’m gonna stick with my original story. 😉 I’ve been okay with no additional heating element in the defroster duct work.

I agree with Bill. The frames should all be similar. The angle they sit at may vary a little. There is some room for builder error there! But even that variance should be minimal.

Crash…is your TDr VW based? If yes, are the heat exchangers hooked up?I’ve driven my TDr well into the winter. I can’t open up the VW heat all the way. Seems to me if someone would loan him a set of cowl brackets, he could be turning our copies pretty quickly at a reasonable price. Deliver them fully polished or deliver them rough and let the TDr owner do the finish work.I’d be interested in buying a pair.Do you think he’d make them?Would one of you fine folk loan you… -

Allen,Yes. Either that, or a couple large fender washers on the inside of the door and door jam bolts.Cutting access holes is standard operating procedure.
