Allen I used extra thick glue down pad (for commercial use carpet) in my TD and trucks . Cost about ten bucks at the carpet store for a remnat piece .

It looks like its been out in the weather a long time. paints faded , lot of debry in the engine compartment.

I’d beat the floor boards are rusted pretty bad.

Rocky what kind of primer and paint did you use ?

Try running some Marvel Mystery oil with your oil. it helps to clean and lubercate .

After i  sanded the edges of mine I took a blow torch to the edges to put a clear finnish on them.

Don’t go to far or you will loose all that patina you’re car has.

DickH  you might want to post your question on the chevette forum also ,

Wire wheel adapters for spoked rims for chevy, I don’t know if they will fit vw’s .scroll to bottom of page.
