Hi Guys and Gals. I was going through my calendar and decided to email George concerning the VA Air and Auto show. Yes, there will be one scheduled. Save the dates for the weekend of Oct. 8.
For those that have never attended it’s held at the Military Aviation Museum outside of VA Beach. Lots of vintage warbirds on display with several flying…[Read more]

Hi Jim,
what can I tell you about the TD? If you are nearby, let me know and we can arrange a time for you to come see it.

You will also notice the “Store” is gone and replaced by a “Join” link.
We have not had anything to sell in quite some time, so the link was a bit …dated.
Also, to try and manage the spam registrations we have on and off tried different approaches. The current one will allow any current user to “invite” someone. This includes Paul and myself…[Read more]

We had a strange problem recently where the Library, Gallery, History, and Store were not showing properly. Frankly, I’m not entirely sure what went bonkers, but a “reset” of “permalink settings” brought things back to normal. Not suspecting anyone need to know what all that entails, other than, things are working as expected now.
There’s a new…[Read more]

Re button: My money’s on that big honker. That’s also a real safety feature for these cars, as it’s easy for all the normie drivers in their monster trucks to fail to see us running along side of them.
Re the tiny five drop oil drip: ignore that. All old VW engines drip a little oil.
The Muir book will suggest some tools to get you going. You…[Read more]

Tiffany! Glad you made it home. Congratulations! 45 minutes is nothing for these cars once they’re set right but—as you’ve learned!—that’s a long way for one that’s been sitting.
How long has this car been sitting, by the way?
Re the red button: all these cars are different from each other, since most of them were built by individuals in the…[Read more]

Hi Tiffany!
Do yourself a favor and leave the mirrors alone until after you get it running and driving.
You’ll need new tires, new brake hoses (the soft ones going to the drums), a flush-out of brake fluid, and probably some engine work before it’s purring.
VW Bugs are easy to drive and basically what everyone learned to drive standard shift…[Read more]

Congratulations on your new acquisition. It’s always a good thing to know the history of the car.
The little things that are bugging you should be available through either mgmagic or moss motors.
Good luck with learning to drive stick. It’s a skill well worth having.

I applied an update to the media manager plugin today. After a recent update to WordPress it was out-of-date. I’m curious if this was causing the “glitch”. Certainly keeping an eye on it though. Please do let me know if you continue to see the problem.

I have a very nice front engine TD Replica that has a ford 2.3 l (was a turbo) that is an ECM motor. It does need some interior work but I have rebuilt the seat boxes and have re-mounted the seat back. The seat bottoms need to be attached to the new boxes. I have put in all new gauges and they all work. Generally the car is in really good shape. I…[Read more]

Just received Showfield credentials in today’s mail. Looks like we are just inside the entrance gate. Make an immediate right and there we are, on the right.

Car looks great Rob.
And, yeah, the website seems to be glitching up. I had the same problem last time I was here and tried to move a pic to a post.
I’ll see if I can get our tech guy involved.

I second the marine upholsterer.
The MG Magic parts are perfect for old CMCs and Fiberfabs, but the BCW is a little different. The front windshield bow is a different design (a block of hardwood), the connection is different—pins from the windshield frame and thumbscrews in the top—and I suspect the dimensions are a little different.
Any goo…[Read more]

Again, here are the instructions for posting photos. Photos cannot be posted from phone or tablet.
First you go to your own thing. Upper right corner it should say something like “Howdy, Happy Jack.” Click on that and you get a drop-down menu. At the bottom it says “media.” Hover over that with your curser and you should see another…
