Nice build! Did you end up lengthening the front side panels?

Kicking myself on this one, boys.
So I got back into Bridget today. Pulled off the rear body work, the cam covers, dug out the water pump. It’s totally fine. No sign of a leak anywhere on or in it. The bearing is smooth, the seal seems fine.Pondered it a while and then decided to trace back the coolant leak from the drip.It was the elbow hose after… -

Greg,
I have been using some for years on mine but it was when I did not have a top and the windshield was reversed because I thought it looked better. Now with a top I have it in the correct orientation I can still use them but if I want to install the top I have to remove. I had thought of leaving out a couple of small pieces of the metal bar… -

billnparts replied to the topic Ideal thermostat temperature? in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 11 years, 1 month ago
A simple straightforward project. As you don’t know if there is a stat in there or not, by all means pull the housing before you purchase one. Early motors used a standard 1.8″ diameter thermostat. if the builder went with a later housing that thermostat is much smaller at only 1.5″. Not interchangeable. Just make sure you have the correct…[Read more]

Either a 180 or 195 will make a world of difference. If you have a decent fan and fan shroud on the radiator, the car should not overheat. The thermostat was definitely an excellent 1920s innovation and, imho, should not be scrapped.

Hey Bad Bill,
Try this site: http://www.cocomats.comThey will make custom coco mats or wool or sisal mats to your template. They will even send you the brown butcher paper to use to make a template so that they can have one on file for the next Tdr owner who wants coco mats. Talk to the owner, Drew. I purchased mats from him for several of m… -

This panel now holds the phone mount, multi 12volt socket array, multiple cleats to wind cables up on and mounts the interior lamp. It really cleaned up the interior.

I doubt that this handles the fun twisty roads that appeal to those of us with TD’s (whether replicas or not). Regardless, it looks like a very well done conversion. As some of you know, I have British wires on my TDr and love them. But, I would worry about wires on a 289 Ford V8 powered TD.Still, a nice swap if you really have a “need for…[Read more]

Many many moons ago, I had a fire up and under my dash. Since I have always carried a fire extinguisher, it was out very quickly with no damage. I have always had small cars and have never had (we’re talking old cars here) and do not understand why you would want a panel to “enclose” this space (which at my age and weight is inaccessible anyway). ???

I made a template using a sheet of cardboard and then transferred that to a spare sheet of Masonite I had lying around. A couple small L-brackets on the back of the dash hold it up.

If you wind up going to a higher wattage bulb (like a 100/55W or 130/90W you will be pulling a lot of extra current out of your battery/Alternator. The 100W would draw around 8 1/2 amps each while the 130 Watt bulbs would draw over 10 amps each (over 20 amps for the pair).
Anyone with a generator stuck in traffic would likely drain the battery to… - Load More
