Rick just got a pile of TD body parts from Wayne here local ( closing down his VW shop ) but it was a rear engine kit.

I agree with Ed – lots of driving to do … someone around her has a newly built Spyder that needs to be driven for a few years before selling off.

If you can find an old school hot rod shop around most of those guys know how to do it all without even looking at the book.

Just a thought:

I use a product called Metal Rescue to remove the rust out of my motorcycle tanks – it is like water and can put your hands in it without hurting your hands or paint. My grill is a cut down original TD grill. They come up on ebay and other places from time to time but expensive. Most original ones are 600.00 to 1000.00 in good shape. I am sure it would – maybe 3/4″ square aluminum – light and rigid. Can buy at Lowes or Home Depot in the hardware dept.

Bar stock might flex down ( sag ) a bit – not rigid like square or triangle stock in my opinion.

I think Crash is like me and a bit handicapped when it comes to posting pics – I never could get it to work.

Looks like Ed’s car in green to me. Love the ride height and never thought I would like green but looks great on that car.

I installed two oak 1×1’s full length on either side of the center and used fiberglass mat and epoxied them to the bottom of the hood on mine many years ago. Really helped stiffen up the hood and still doing great.
