Most likely your speedo cable is giving up or it came loose on the back of the
speedo or the clip came off at the wheel. Sometimes you can squirt lube on
the cable ( between the cable and housing ) and get it to work if the two
ends are OK.

Had a problem w/ mine once – filled the crankcase w/ fuel – the carb inlet
valve was stuck open and it siphoned all my fuel out of the tank. One way
to tell if this is the problem – remove the top of the carb and turn it

I am w/ Ed – if you used a pressure system and lots of fluid you most likely
have a bad MC out of the box ( made in China ). Pull it and send it back for
another.

Mine just looks like the standard yellow foam used on most chairs etc. – I
think you can get it most anywhere and cut it to fit. The repair I did helped
me a lot on the long drives.

Thanks for posting that – all these years I have been coming on here and did
not know the photo gallery was up there – I only looked at the Aqua one to
the left.

Good for you Charlie – I hope you get it done in time. I made spare tire rack
a couple of years back – a nice easy Saturday job. Let me know if you need

As Ed said it is most likely a ground problem.
Look for all the grounds you can find and take them loose and clean them up, apply elec grease and put it them back tight. Most likely just corrosion at the conections.

Looks good Ed – you going to do a glove compartment as well?
