I took the part number off the current steering coupler and was able to find it on JBugs, along with a shift rod bushing, and shift rod coupler. All ordered and heading my way. Hope to have it by the end of the week.
There are some very helpful YouTube vids on how to change them.
Not too difficult, if you don’t mind getting greasey!

My mechanic pointed out the steering coupler is in bad shape and unless I want to wind up upside down in a cornfield I should replace it ASAP. I’ve been to several websites and there are coplers for both Bugs and vans. Any suggestions which I need? Since they are in the $9-$15 price range I guess I COULD get both and see which fits, but that…[Read more]

I decided when I purchased my TDr last year (and Bugatti just now),not to go with the historic/antique plates and insurance because Illinois has VERY restrictive rules about those types of cars. I went with regular registration and insurance. Although more expensive, you’re not restricted by the antique car rules.
I was told by my Chief of Police…[Read more]

Thanks for the compliments. The edging you see is some very fine pin striping. I’m not sure if it was stock or added later, but I think it adds a lot to the car. I like it, too.

Well after waiting through two weeks of rain, a week of paper work and other delays I finally had the opportunity to take the Bugatti 35 out for a drive. Even though both the LR TDR and Bugatti use the same engine, drive train, steering and underbody, It is TOTALLY different driving the two. The shifting on the Bugatti is very vague, it may just…[Read more]

I’ve always said I’ve had more Corvette drivers wave at me than they seem to wave at anyone else 😎 . Sometime I get so caught up between steering, shifting and waving, I wish I had three hands 😯 !

I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. My mom passed away a little over a year ago after battling cancer, two days before her birthday and a week before Mother’s Day, so I can share your grief.
After she passed was when I purchased my London Roadster, and have often thought of naming it Sandra Jane, in her honor.
I think it would be a sweet…[Read more]

It is a very good article, though.

I found this while Googleing “replica car forums”. While it is very dated, it seems some people just can’t get enough whining and elitism in to their day. 🙄
I thought it was good for a laugh.http://www.lamborghini-talk.com/vbforum/f4/petitioning-against-lamborghini-kit-car-replica-companies-6917/
May be on the next ballot… 😀

There are currently two Bugatti tributes on eBay; one in Las Vegas, the other in southern CA. Since I’m in Ill. either would have meant a flight west, plus hotel, car rental, etc. just to look at them. Both are priced to sell. The one in CA was listed earlier for $8000+, so they’ve relisted it at a lower reserve. They have some nice features, and…[Read more]

After looking and pondering it over, I pulled the trigger and purchased this

I dealt with Cody Jones, a truly super guy.
I’d tow it behind my car, but it’s been POURING down rain,so I’m arranging for a closed truck to ship it from Nashville. My quote was less than…[Read more]
