An update that there’s no update. I’m waiting for the domain name transfer to happen, which typically takes 7-10 days. Perhaps I was too hopeful it would have happened quicker. After that it will be a day or two to get my act together and start in on the weekend directly thereafter.

We may be offline for a few hours when the transfer happens. I’ve got it mostly scripted but there are some parts I’ll have to do manually after the forum database imports. Waiting for the domain transfer, hopefully will be done within the week.stephenhouser2016-05-29 11:44:29

I would say that rather than “delete” the topic that we just “unstick” it so that it drifts down into the history with other old topics.I don’t prefer to delete things, it’s just a personality quirk.

I cannot duplicate the topic creation problem on the site or on a backup (development) version of the site. Interested if this continues to happen and any more details on where if fails.

Good news. I just found and fixed the “Watch this Topic” problem. You can now watch topics and get email notifications![Update] For future reference; the database table tblEmailNotify has a required field “Forum_ID.” In a pristine setup, I noticed there is a default value for the field (“((0))”). The current database for the site did not have this…[Read more]

No answers or questions yet, just watching the conversation and pondering the problem. I was planning to look at a few other things this weekend and next week and will add this to my list.stephenhouser2015-11-20 08:01:55

“Not sure if that would ever be considered a problem or necessary, but does require some web browsing acrobatics if wanting specific topics bookmarked.”I share the same problem and agree the URL acrobatics have annoyed me a few times, most specifically on mobile devices. There are other ways to present the sidebar that could solve this but didn’t…[Read more]

Lots of traffic on the way home tonight. I’ll be half-hour to an hour late making the changes. 7 – 7:30 or so. Need to get kids and self fed.
