Maybe it’s the NSA, just playing around between listening in on Putin and Merkel. ❗

Houston’s had several days of rain, but Thursday morning dawned clear and cool so once I’d downed a couple cups of coffee to get my heart pumping, I cranked up Percy intending just to run down to the Shell station and fill the tank. Of course, after that I couldn’t help but head out for just a little drive. An hour later I finally pulled back into…[Read more]

I’m with you, Gabe, but I’d go a step further. Find another to match that one, and mount them on either side just in front of the doors. Or maybe on the rear someplace.

Apparently my wife was right when she said my vision was getting as bad as my hearing. It looked black to me at first, but now that I know differently I can see it’s green.
Regardless, Mike, you have a sharp-looking set o’ wheels there. Drive with pride!

Another vote for glossy black with a tan interior! Nice-looking dash, too. Wishing you endless miles of smiles!

There used to be a product on the market called Posh Wash. It was a cream, made here in Houston, that let you wash, polish and wax your vehicle with two buckets of water and no hose. Terrific stuff. Even worked on wheels and tires. No longer available, although I still have about half a bottle. Anyway, down here on the humid Texas Gulf Coast, my…[Read more]

That’s a common complaint, and replacing the shift rod bushing was one of the first things I had done when I bought my Lafer six years ago. Good luck.

Bruce, that is beyond beautiful! Congratulations on a superb job — and here’s hoping you’ve dodged the worst of that horrible weather you’re dealing with in Colorado.

I never taught either of my girls how to drive a stick shift, James, so I don’t have that particular problem. 😉

From the photo I’d say you have a nice-looking ride there, Ed — not to mention a nice-looking co-pilot. My suggestion would be to put the fuel gauge at the bottom of your “to-do” list. Mine hasn’t worked since I replaced the original rusted-out gas tank with a baffled circle-track fuel cell, but if you know what kind of mileage you’re getting…[Read more]

I used STP in a clapped-out ’62 Austin-Healy Sprite that I drove in college, and it kept the idle oil pressure up until I could afford to have the engine pulled and rebuilt. Had the consistency of honey. Haven’t used it since, though. What are you trying to achieve?

Yeah, that Opel GT was a sweet little car. I have fond memories of navigating in one of those back in college on some late-night lime runs through the back roads of Brazos County, Texas.

It vaguely resembles a Bradley GT, but that roofline looks too high for one thing. And I remember them having a Plexi door/window combo that hinged in the center of the roof and worked something like a gullwing. That one seems to have a solid roof.
