Trying without any success to find a vacuum leak, I used a propane torch unlit, and when the motor increased RPMs I had the leak.
March 7, 2010 at 11:31 pm #238193Having made a number of wind wings to find the most effective for me, I think I am close. I bought hinges for a MGTC which uses such for both sun visors and windwings. ‘
Anyone who would like a patern of what I have wound up with, I would be glad to send along. Also, because I have a good bit of plexiglas left over, I can cut out some if that would help for postage to send.
The cheapest hinges were $8.?? from LB car co.

August 30, 2009 at 7:27 pm #238260Ringo, looking at your dash again, the itch has returned to replace mine. Can you give me some details on how you cut in your glove box, because that looks extreemly nice. You do quality work, and I would appreciate any hints you might have, even to the choice of wood, hinges, mounting of the radio, etc..
August 6, 2009 at 12:51 am #239342Ordered the books. Thanks.
August 4, 2009 at 10:49 pm #238256Ringo,
You did it to me. Now I have to really do it myself, which I have only half said I would. It will be this winter’s job, only I am thinking of kobolo.
August 4, 2009 at 10:45 pm #239341Ringo,
YOu have done your good deed for the day. Thanks.
August 4, 2009 at 10:43 pm #238190Rich,
Yes you did. I made some myself, and made them quite a bit larger. There was not much different than the nornmal size ones. I used windwing hinges left over from my MGTC which worked quite well. They can be bought from Moss. Trying some other ideas all which has to come to a good end sometime.
July 28, 2009 at 1:27 am #239326Other than my red face for not seeing the obvious, may I say thank you for the response. Just thinking this is a different breed of cat, and so specialized that …. or I am going brain dead.
July 20, 2009 at 11:26 pm #239149Thank you. Rather steep learning curve, but I am grateful for your patience.

I made my wind wing large, really large. It helps up to 55 or so, quite a bit. But it doesn’t look right. So I am still looking for a pattern.

Thanks for the time and information. I wish I had a pattern, but am going to cut some tomrrow. If anyone wants to get into this, I used the wind wing hinges which were on my MGTC. and am going to try to cut plexie glass and have it look ok. I had to cut the inside of the hinges down but so far I think they will work. My biggest problem is with the DMV of California.
July 11, 2009 at 11:47 pm #238188Ok, the next question, does it help with the wind?
July 11, 2009 at 2:39 pm #238423As a beginner ;I need some serious help.
Where can I buy the windshield that folds forward as I see on several MG kit cars? Ihave one that is straight. Any ideas?

Being new to all of this, please have patience. I have posted the picture on the TD Replica site. Where do you suggest I start looking.
Also, my two rear view mirrors really do not let me see for safty sake, do you know of any right mirrors that can be attached to the windshild? Or what do you suggest?
July 8, 2009 at 12:12 am #239144Question. Is it ettiquti to post a picture of the one wire hub cap I am hunting.
July 8, 2009 at 12:10 am #238893This is serious. My 52 MGVW at about 50, 55 the wind really is most unconforable. I need some idea that works. I haven’t tried wind wings and would appreciate any suggestions that may help or work.
It seems the windshield would be a good place to attach, but if anyone has an idea that works, please let me know.

July 3, 2009 at 8:11 pm #239143Found this MG kit car under an alvacado tree and trying to bring it back to life. I need one spoke wheel hub cap to begin with. Or I have three for sale. Any help would be appreciated. I did order 4 plastic ones to tied me over. Anyone have any experience with these?
Found four hub caps. Plastic so they will do for now. Have three others if someone needs them.
