Got my first order from MG Magic. Looking at ordering mirrors today but have a question on the fender mounted side view mirrors. From the driver5’s seat there shouldn’t be a problem seeing the left mirror. What about the right side? Are the dash or windshield posts in the way? I know I’ll use the dash mounted rear view most of the time but I sure like having the side view mirrors.

    Thanks

I can just about see mine but I gotta kinda stretch my neck up, on account of being on the short side (5-7). I’ve yet to get any of my (4) side view mirrors in an adjustment I like, but since I’m 99 percent of the time driving top-down sunny, I find it easier to glance sideways before changing lanes, etc.

Since I replaced the Cobra style interior mirror with the one from an original MG, I have to peep arround the right side of the mirror to see the right fender mirror because the MG style mirror is taller.I too have 4 outside mirrors, being a retired trucker, I believe that you cannot have too many. I strongly recommend using the convex mirrors on the fenders as they  really expand the field of vision. Having right side mirrors also balance the appearance of the car in my humble opinion.. Check arround ,I got my fender mirrors from Victoria British for much less than Moss Motors or MG Magic.

I agree with Larry. If you get fender mirrors, get convex. I didn’t and they’re pretty much useless. In fact I don’t even use them. they’re there for looks only. I have a rearview dash mirror and I installed peep mirrors on each side. Again I wish I had gotten a convex peep mirror for the right side. It’s not very useful. The left peep mirror and dash mirror are the only ones that work for me.

Mycar came with the fender mounted mirrors and a round Harley mirror on the dash. I could see a spot right behind me but nothing to either side so I put a TD style mirror on the dash and that works great. I bought a left side mirror from Mg Magic that clamps onto the windshield and it works great! I had to insert a chunk of aluminum into the grove to clamp it onto. I find the fender mounted mirrors are only for looks so they are still there!

Larry, pga64 and others have it right.

The fender mirrors do work IF they are convex.

I had fender mirrors at one time, I can see the patch job.  My post cover mount mirrors with the MG dash mirror work well for me, but I also keep my head on a swivel. Looking all around is one of the best reasons to not put the top up.
