Hello. I just bought a partially built Fiberfab mgtd 1952 on a vw chassis (1969) by bidding on ebay. I do not know who was previous builder, as it was donated to a charity located in Saint Louis. It is red and prior work looks good to me, a neophyte builder.
I am located in NW Alabama (Florence) and I am retired. At age 67 I know my time for motorcycle riding is finite, so I bought the TD as a four-wheeled motorcycle replacement. It is great to find this site. I will probably be asking for advice as I begin the process of learning how to construct a kit car. Fortunately, most (all?) of the mechanical work has been done, so assembly is all that is required. If there is an owner/builder in N. Alabama, N Mississippi, or S Tennessee, I would like to hear from you, as I may want to look at your kit construction, if I have a question. Hope you don’t mind, I moved your post from “running kit cars for sale” to the general discussion section. And deleted the duplicate post.
You’ll find lots of great people with a ton of TD replica and VW knowledge here!

January 18, 2013 at 6:37 pm #253913Welcome aboard Ernie. Great to have another new member. When you get a chance, look in the Car registry forum here and you’ll get to do two things. One is get your TD registered in the TD registry and the other is you’ll see a map of the US with all the members locations and a listing of the members and the info on their TDs. There is one member in your neck of the woods over in Ft. Payne, AL. You’ve hooked up with the best bunch of folks on the web here. And if you have any questions, don’t hesitste to ask. We’ll do our best to help you out.

January 19, 2013 at 12:17 pm #253921Hi Ernie. I am also a proud new owner of a partially completed MG TD replica. I hope your kit is more complete than mine is. But then, what would a project be without some challenges? This seems to be a great site for info on the TD replicas so look around. Be sure to read the older forum posts as there is a lot of information in them.
