    @kentt

While browsing the Photo Gallery, looking at ideas for extractor/mufflers for my new engine build, I saw this one for Member ID 16062.  He appears to have the same kit that I do, though he has the TD-type front turn signals and optional chrome grille shell.

I’ve found no easy way to identify who has this member ID short of paging through all the records in the Memberlist to identify him.  Thought someone might be able to readily ID the car from these 3 pics (all there are)….

This car appears to be the same kit as mine, and has the same shaped rear splashpan and engine lid.
See all the open, unenclosed space in the engine compartment?  How the splashpan doesn’t extend all the way forward to the tub, nor do the sides of the tub extend down to the level of the splashpan?  And, how the splashpan’s forward edge is not curved to match the VW rear tin’s shape?
Mine has been further hacked by the PO/builder to clear the upper exhaust tubes when they installed a Monza-type 4-tip exhaust with a round muffler tucked underneath there.  They’ve also cut the rear, flat part and trailing edge to add clearance…
I have a real task ahead of me, if I try to seal all this better… I’ll probably just try to block the exhaust heat, and leave the rest open.

Sorry Kent, I don’t know of any way to reverse search on the member number.

No problem, Paul.  Just thought I might be able to contact him directly, to discuss our similar kits…

BTW, thanks again, for helping make this WONDERFUL resource available!  I’d be lost without it!

Thanks, Mike, for doing the grunt work!

Econjoe only posted once, in July 2011, as follows:
    >> 1952MGTD replica (Fiberfab on VW chassis), less than 24,000 actual miles, balanced engine with oversize jugs, external oil cooler and fan, front disc brakes, alternator, always garaged, immaculate condition, no mechanical issues just need more space in the garage. Located in Florence, AL. $6,000 obo. More photos available upon request. Joe View Post <<
So, it looks like he likely sold the car.  But it does confirm my thinking that mine is an early FiberFab kit…
I’ll try contacting him any way!
BTW, my member ID is 25694

Ray…you can still get to the old gallery?

FrankieD told us we lost that the last time he upgraded the forum software. I get a dead page.

Paul, when I go to the gallery page, is there a certain order the list is in. Is there anyway to put them in numerical order?

Try logging in on that screen.  You’ll get another error message, but you’ll then be able to click on the Gallery link, and it will show all the old galleries for members who joined up to about 2 years ago….

When you come back here, you’ll likely have to log in again here.  The two sites don’t seem to like each other very much… 😉
