Went to Wrench A Part and found these back seats from a 2000 Camaro. I,ve just got then sitting in now but it won’t be much trouble to mount permanently. Best of all they were $36.00 but had to drive 65 miles to get them.
April 26, 2016 at 5:51 pm #267942Good job! What are the bottom seats, they look very comfortable?

April 26, 2016 at 6:10 pm #267943The bottoms and the back are a set from the same car.
April 26, 2016 at 6:50 pm #267944Nice and nice to know.

April 27, 2016 at 8:57 am #267945The seats look good.Nice thinking outside the box. Did you know they would work, or did you just “wing it” for the fit?
Did your car have seats before?
How are you going to attach them to the rest of the car?
I take it you’re going to finish the rest of the interior in black?
Keep sending pics!Amor Conquista Todo
April 27, 2016 at 11:19 am #267946If you move the bottom of the seat back forward a few inches to line up with the bases, you’d have something really great. If they are installed exactly like the picture, you and your passenger are going to suffer baaaaad back problems.
April 27, 2016 at 3:42 pm #267947Man! I wish I had seats like that! I posted “Doinger Upholstery” a few months ago. Flat seats covered with leather from an elderly but real nice old leather couch. BEAUTIFUL SEATS!
Randy in Chandler Arizona, great B-bopp'in teritory. I must have the only one in the country made by Rich Industries in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on a 1986 Ford Cortina (english ford escort) It's a 1600cc straight four cylinder front engne, 4 speed, changed from right side driver to left side with several shafts and u-joints. BEBOP because I once had an MGB with license plate MG-BEPOP in Virginia.
April 27, 2016 at 7:27 pm #267948Yes I can tell that would cause back problems. The seats are just laying there, not mounted. I fooled with then a couple hours today and the back of the cushion part is going under the bottom of the back. Had to make some mounting brackets. They aren’t quite right but close enough I know how to make another set now that will work, it’s trial and error. It will be several days before I can work on it some more but I’ll post picture when finished

"Drive Happy"May 1, 2016 at 3:07 pm #267951I have to agree with Bill. The best looking seat conversion I have seen.
May 1, 2016 at 7:43 pm #267952I like that A LOT. Well done.
May 2, 2016 at 9:37 am #267953BEAUTIFUL!
The seats look great!
Makes me think of starting to look around, see if maybe I could find some, too.
Good Work!Amor Conquista Todo
May 2, 2016 at 10:38 am #267954AnonymousInactiveLeo : Great job on seats. Looks like they were shortened about 3″. How is the back and seats held in position ? Any chance of getting pictures of support brackets? How was rear of seat back covered?Again Great job.August 14, 2016 at 7:22 am #301458Over the years I have seen many postings from those attempting to change/modify/improve their seats. This morning I was browsing for nothing in particular for my Classic Mini and came across these which may work for some:
August 14, 2016 at 9:00 am #301459Good find, Royal. They have lots of goodies, even roll cages.
They are in Great Britain so the prices would neat to be figured for dollar against the pound. Last time I figured it was about $1.55 to 1 pound. Also I wonder about the shipping costs.

August 14, 2016 at 11:13 am #301460As of a few minutes ago, 1 pound = $1.29
August 14, 2016 at 1:02 pm #301461I’ve been contemplating wading into these waters. I’ll probably wait until after VA Beach. I do need something better than the padded box top that’s been in there since day one. I need something to minimize lateral sliding during the hillclimbs. I can see more fiberglass work and some welding in my future..

"Drive Happy"February 22, 2018 at 10:19 am #304664Would you happen to have a pic of the mounting bracket you made?
How did you attach the seat bottom to the mounting bracket?
They appear to be made entirely out of foam.
Thanks,
Scott
