Didn’t they do a covered bridge tour a couple of years ago at Carlisle? I think that’d be cool.

That Lehigh Valley tour looks pretty cool. We should consider that. A bridge tour from Carlisle sounds promising as well.🚗💨💨

Hey Paul, that looks like a quick and easy tour with all those covered bridges so close together.

When I saw the two at NW part of the map I almost didn’t think it strange how the route backtracks. Had to see if it was for a reason I encounter here, closed roads and the general way these kinds of bridges can be in rough terrain.

Looking at maps.google.com using satellite view they apparently aren’t cut off from surrounding roads, so I wondered why your map goes back out and around to the NW? Unless for a more scenic drive.

I was looking at how there’s a zoo between those bridges and to my surprise I saw a “ford”, a roadway going through shallow water. Is that really intended to be driven through all the time? If you know what I’m talking about anyhow.

I’ve never seen a place made to be able to do that, on purpose anyway. Drove a ’69 Toyota Corona across the rocky shallows of a river once with a couple girls on the roof to get across to a gathering of people with 4X4’s. I’m seldom that brave but the water only reached into the floor of that little car and I had the extra weight to help me.

I’ve seen now that “The Ford” water crossing is a One Way drive, but still possible to go to Geiger’s Bridge and turn around in the parking lot on the other side then backtrack out to head north on Game Preserve Rd to Trexler Nature Preserve, which eventually goes to Game Preserve Rd again after The Ford crossing. Follow that west and south to Schlicher’s Bridge and continue from there out to the route your map shows.

Not only would I like to see those bridges if I ever get up that way I would have to drive through the water just to say I had done it. Better yet if in the MGTDr.
