I have my TD covered with 4 tarps. Went to do fit the interior side carpet but can’t because when I took the tarps off, there was 1/4 inch water in the floor boards. The tarps have no holes in them and cover the entire car. Can’t figure where the water is coming in from. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Depending on how long the tarps were covering the car and whether it was parked outside exposed to the elements could it have been condensation? I have my tractor covered with tarps and I have condensation in the tach and temp gauge a couple of times a year, especially during periods of high humidity during the day and cool nights

Alternatively mice could have had a meeting and left a liquid calling card

I was working the car Thursday making the final adjustment on the passenger door. When it started getting dark out, I cleaned up everything, put the tarps on and secured them with 3 cargo straps. Friday it rained and today I got ready to install the side carpeting and when I pulled the tarps off both floorboards were filled with water about 1/4 inch deep. Its definitely rain water but I can’t figure where its coming from. Will have to check the tarps closely for damage. One of the tarps is brand new. I think its the bottom one.

In my experience, tarps hammock in the rain and then leak. To make a leak-resistant (note I don’t say “leak-proof”) tarp system you have to tent them in a A-frame configuration. Any loose area that’s even slightly near horizontal will become a rain collector and then leak.
