Bill,
Definitely a wrong bearing. VW Part number should be 113.501.283 and on the box is part number 311.501.283X. On the edge of the bearing race it reads GERMANY 6306 C3. Looks like they are for a Type 3 and not Type 1. I’ll swap them out Monday at lunch. -

Seems a little high to me since you can still buy a driver for 3,000 to 3500 if you look. Also if the body has lots of cracks in the gel coat you are in for lots of work ( ask me how I know ) so take your time and check that closely. Engine and pan and everything included? there is a formula for how many cubic feet per minute of carb you will need but I can’t remember it. displacement by rpms then divide by some number

Been to the inflation night a couple times (the night before) and been to the parade a couple times.And worked it as a balloon handler one year, they call the teams “flight crews”. THAT was VERY cool.

I don’t believe i will be able to say this many years.Thanksgiving mornings. I am going to take my LR out for a little ride.58 degrees not bad for Buffalo NY.Then i will stuff myself at my sisters I will have a year to get back to my driving weight

and i will need a hole year.Anyway happy Thanksgiving to all.
