OK, guys. I have a total of 10 pictures right now, including near-duplicates. At most it’s half a calendar.I will be needing more big pictures of different members TDs.Remember, these can be anything from cars under construction to cars under power. Close-ups of details, different weather situations, motion, loved ones–whatever!Bill: I would much…[Read more]

Dan and Greg, I went there just a couple of months ago. It is still in the “middle of nowhere”. Quite eerie really, you are driving through farmland and cows and voila, there is the Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts. It is worth going to. A shrine to commemorate the Woodstock experience. Very well done with many many photos and st…[Read more]

Allen, if you are going to add heater boxes, spend the bucks and get the good ones. The “lightweight” boxes are not good!

Greg, I’m the guy that lived near “Woodstock” which actually took place over 1-1/2 hours SW from Woodstock in a town called Bethel. Unfortunately, I was in the Submarine Force and a couple of hundred feet under the ocean where there were no naked ladies…..and it’s Hendrix (like my last name). No, we’re not related. But it sure was a super bu…[Read more]

Thanks for checking Ed. Roy, I don’t have the heat exchangers, but if I decide to go with heat I’ll probably get them locally. NAPA has them or can get them.

George,
I was with a club member this weekend and he is rewiring his TD. The wires are a mess and the PO wired EVERYTHING with RED wire. He’s got a job on his hands. -
edward ericson replied to the topic Emergency Flashers Needed? in the forum VW Based Kits 13 years, 4 months ago
Sorry, Allen, I have no idea how they’re wired. The VW flasher was one of several items I did not have to rewire when I tackled the instrument cluster last year.

Allen, I’ve read somewhere that the engine will run hotter with j tubes but can’t find it. If you have the heat exchangers, why not use them? If you were ever wondering what the inside of a heat exchanger looks like, below is a cross section of both.

Greg , that was one big dog
1969 Midgets are low and small they make a TD look BIG . my wife was 8 mo. on at that time in 1980. Back than i had a XL kicker. and was living by Woodstock NY the MG was also my winter ride. Dan -

I decided not to worry about them. I’ll put a 12V plug where the emergency flasher switch was going to go. But I do have to decide on putting the heat exchangers in or just run J-tubes. Still undecided on that. newkitman2012-11-12 16:52:32

Allen, aren’t you the guy that don’t need no stinking inspection sticker? I just turn on my left turn signal, – no emergency flashers. But, if you insist, just like Paul says, just run a jumper between the two wires that come from the turn signal stalk. Put a toggle switch in the jumper and voila, if the switch is “on” you have 4 way fl…[Read more]

Shortcut from a friend….
Run a wire from the hot lead on one turn signal to the hot lead on the second turn signal, with a toggle switch in the middle of the lead. Turn on one turn signal, flip the switch to the on position and voila, instant four way flasher. - Load More
