Clean looking car; got the special front suspension, lots of storage. Priced about double market though. See a lot listed for $7-$10g. Not so many sell for that much.

If your pockets are really deep, opt for the 7″ LED headlamps.
List Price is over $400 each. You should be able to find them for less than $300. -

Sometimes we overlook the obvious when trying to solve your fuel pump problem. I replaced the gas cap with a new one because i lost the old .My gas cap was from a boat and it was vented throug the cap with tiny holes new one no holes in cap . Problem solved. I hope

VERY glad you bought new tires BeBop.
Twenty year old tires may have “looked good,” but they were VERY unsafe and were an accident waiting to happen.Take a read through this thread….PMOSSBERG2012-08-08 16:25:04

Your MG should use the standard 7″ hi/low sealed beam.
The Empi H4 Headlight Conversions are 7″ “shells” that fit the same space as the old sealed beam.Everything I’ve read says you just install ’em in place of your sealed beams. Not sure if that is accurate. -

Looks salvageable. Too bad about the GEX engine though. One of the worst reps in the industry.

Glad you lived to tell the tale, Bill. You’ve had a couple broken welds on that rear suspension, no?

newkitman replied to the topic Boredom in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 9 months ago
What a bummer Bill! Glad you and the TD are both home safe. Fortunately the damage was minimal. I’m betting you’ll be back on the road in short order (as the Brits would say). newkitman2012-08-07 17:44:28

once bought a brand new set of points for my TR6 that wore the rubbing block down and changed point gap. Had to keep resetting the points to keep it running, so George could be on to something.

gumout, then starter fluid. Don’t touch anything else.Oh yeah. Also: feed it new gas from not in the tank. If that works (and it probably will), then try the gas from the tank. edsnova2012-08-04 19:58:29

Paul, I agree with all your assumptions and conclusions. I also agree with Mike P that you need to closely examine fuel delivery. It is unlikely that both of your carbs clogged up or both float needle valves stuck at the same time. It is most likely that you did get some bad gas or that the gas that was in the tank for the year (?) that you we…[Read more]
